Monday's Weekend Recap...

It was just another ho-hum weekend.  Piddled around the house on Saturday doing a little of this and that.  Sunday, after church, I did my laundry, made some dinner, and watched some TV.  Got hooked on Vera, streaming on BritBox.  Thanks to Elaine for telling me about it.

Oh... Friday was haircut day.  Boy, did I need it!!  It was getting much too long, so Teena cut it short again. Looks and feels better.

Today when I get home from work, I will clean the house, bake a cake, and get ready for my community group meeting here on Tuesday.  I ordered groceries from Kroger delivery.  They will come at 2:00 this afternoon.  I had digital coupons and $15.00 off (delivery 2 of 3 for $15 off).  The best is that I didn't spend extra money because I wasn't tempted by BOGOs at Publix! $54 of groceries only cost me $34 and change and they will be delivered! Nice.

That's all I've got.  We had lots of rain, including thunder and lightning Saturday night.  Summer in Florida. Wishing you a good week ahead!!

Peace & hugs!!

A bulwark never failing
Our helper He amid the flood
Of mortal ills prevailing...

  1. A friend told me about Vera and I forgot about it. Better check it out!
I order my groceries online and pick them up on my way home from work. No charge for that, and like you said, you don't pick up extras. I've not tried the delivery, but that sounds good!

  2. We could get delivery all through Covid and it was a blessing... love it.. Still prefer to pick out fruits and veggies...

  3. If I don't get a haircut every 5 weeks, mine soon becomes a Bother. Isn't Teena your former barber/ess? Good point about avoiding in-store temptation, but going to Publix every few weeks always brings joy to Tom's life -- plus, he pays!

PS - Is it my imagination or has your Avatar lost weight?

    1. Yes, I have gone back to Teena. She is in a new location now with no reminders of me being there with Joe. She knows my hair and is happy to have me back. My Avatar has lost 20 pounds and some ounces, but got stuck there and has taken a couple of weeks off. It is time to get back to the carnivore/keto eating again. Fifteen or so more to go!!

  4. I love doing the Krogers online, but I've never tried their delivery. You'll have to let me know how they do. Have a great day, Terri!

  6. I had no idea you could use digital coupons on your Kroger order. Where did you get 3 free deliveries girl?

  7. "For still our ancient foe
    does seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
    and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal."
One of my favorite hymns!!! Sounds like a peaceful weekend. Nice that you are having company tomorrow for dinner. That sounds like fun. I haven't done much entertaining beyond family since we've lived here in this house. Somehow I've lost the hospitality gift that I used to have...I've gotten too lazy. Family doesn't mind that the house isn't thoroughly clean and dusted, etc. Plus we have too many steps to climb for some people to visit, so I feel limited. I'm glad you still entertain like you do. That is a blessing. Have a good and wonderful week. Try to stay cool and dry!

  8. We don't have grocery delivery where we live but I'm sure you spend less without the temptation of impulse buys you get in the store. We've had a full house, then a road trip, and I am now looking forward to a quiet weekend. I love the chaos of a crowd in the house but need to balance it with some down time after.
