Weekend Recap Time...

 It is Christmas Week!

Last Wednesday, here in Mas Verde, there was a golf cart Christmas parade. I totally forgot about it until I heard the Christmas music and ran outside just in time to see Santa bringing up the rear of the parade. He threw me a couple of candy canes so all wasn't lost!

On Thursday, our dinner group went to Olive Garden.  They sat us in our own little alcove room. I had spaghetti and meat sauce and salad (of course).  Judy and Tim had us all over to their new house for desserts afterward. They moved a few weeks ago to a condo (1,800 sq.ft.) in the next development over. Their new home is beautiful and we will all be in touch. They will still go to dinner with us on Thursday nights.

I did some grocery shopping after work on Friday and found my melting chocolates!  I still have to go one more time before Christmas and will do that after work on Wednesday. My sister, Tammy, will be here on Thursday, late afternoon.

On Saturday, I headed for Celebration (Orlando) to meet up with my great-niece and her hubby.  Gina is niece Linda's daughter. Linda is Joe's older brother's daughter.  She and Steven met at and graduated from SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design).  My longer connected readers might remember when Joe and I went to Savannah and met up with them while we were there (2013). They married in 2015.  It was a lovely two-hour visit outside at Starbucks on Saturday. They have only been in Florida for a few months. Both have new jobs and are buying a house.  Steven's folks live in Orlando and he is happy to be "home".  They moved here from New England and are really happy to be done with winters up there.

Sunday was Sunday school and church. Sunday school is over until January now so I'll have a couple of Sundays to sleep a little later.  It was announced that our monthly pot-luck lunches will begin again in January! I've really missed them and am so looking forward to one more step to 'normal'!!

Back to work today and I am working five hours for four days so I can have Christmas Eve day off.  So nice!!  Wishing you all a good week ahead!

Peace & hugs!
Jesus is the reason for ALL seasons!!

  5. Our Church is small and we've suspended Sunday School until January also. Too many people sick, got visitors from out of town and/or traveling.
I'm so glad you're able to stay busy. You're an inspiration.
    Sending Love & Prayers xx

  8. You have a busy week ahead, but it's all good. So happy your sister will be with you for a few days, and that you have Friday off to be with her. We are still having Sunday School. John is our teacher now, and our class is small, but we enjoy meeting so will continue to do so. We are going to start up our monthly breakfasts at our church in January, first time since Covid hit. We open it up to the community, for a fee, but we serve a lot of good food! Everyone is excited to be starting back up. We also have fifth Sunday potluck dinners and also a small group potluck the 2nd Saturday of each month. (Agape Dinner we call it). so the opportunities for fellowship and good food are growing. Have a wonderful week. Love that you saw your niece and hubby and that they live closer to you now. That's a great picture of you! Merry Christmas!

  10. Yours sounds like such a busy, fun-filled prelude to Christmas! I love seeing your pretty smile. I got to meet with our Bible study ladies this morning for the first time in what, 3 months? It felt so good to laugh with like-minded friends!

  13. What a fun weekend! It's nice to see life slowly returning to normal. Covid is supposed to be on an upswing here again, but other than seeing more people wearing masks and the odd restaurant closing the dining room, it doesn't seem to be having much effect on how folks are living. They are just so tired of it all, I guess. I find myself feeling a bit unforgiving toward those responsible for developing the virus. Anyway....sounds like you have a wonderful and busy week ahead. If I don't catch up with you before then, Merry Christmas!
