Friday Fotos... and all about me!

Another Friday has arrived so fast!  This has been a fun week for me! Tomorrow is my 70th birthday.  Talk about getting here fast! I'm not sure how that number even applies to me but here it is!  I've been feeling a little blue about celebrating a "big one" without Joe and mentioned it to a few people.  Well, I sure didn't intend for dinner and gifts to happen but I am feeling so loved and so blessed.

On Wednesday, Cheryl (Helen's niece) invited me to dinner at Burger 21.  We had a nice catching-up visit and good burgers. I also got a free milkshake from B21 via a birthday email.  Today two of my co-workers are taking me to lunch.  My boss and Mrs. Boss have invited me for Mexican at Tapatios on Sunday evening.  Sonny's BBQ gave me a free meal via email, which I cashed in on Tuesday evening!!  Nice!

Roses arrived yesterday, from my D'Orsaneo nieces & nephews!  A box of cookies arrived from BFF Elaine & her hubby Jim. My sister sent me a new purse, a new top, and some cash in the birthday card! My sis-in-law Jo Anne sent me a generous restaurant gift card and her card is so great... it says to not say I'm 70 but rather I am seven perfect 10s!! I love that!!  Joe always made sure I got BangBang shrimp from Bone Fish Grill on my birthday so I think I will order take out on Saturday because he would want me to.

Last night I went to dinner at Shell's with the Mas Verde Thursday night dinner group.  It was fun, as usual.  I snapped a quick picture and didn't tell anyone to smile.  As you can see, there is always lots of conversation going on!  This was before our food arrived.

On Tuesday, I was tasked with putting up the Christmas tree at the office. All the guys were out and about on the property so I did what I could with a very old artificial tree and some very old decorations.  They all like it and one of the guys even says "Hello tree" when he walks by it, going in or out.  He told me that he hasn't had a tree for a few years and this one makes him very happy (lives with his divorced dad).   I took a close-up of the fish ornaments.  They make me laugh but are perfect for our office.

Tonight, as mentioned earlier this week, I am going to dinner and the Polk Theatre with my friends, Livia and Wilma, for a Christmas show.  Looking forward to it!

On Tuesday, coming up, I am taking brunch to the office for the guys.  It's a bit early for Christmas but a couple of them will be off through the end of the year.  Use or lose vacation time.  I'm doing a breakfast casserole full of eggs, potatoes, and meat, fruit salad, biscuits & gravy, OJ, and some Christmas petit-fours.  I told them to bring their own coffee (no way to really do coffee unless I take a pot in).  I am so very blessed and these guys are like family after just six months of being part of the Fish & Wildlife team.

Birthday cards and Christmas cards have been arriving, making my mailbox full and making me a happy girl.  Thanks to all!!

Happy Weekend!

Peace & hugs!
Jesus is the reason for the season!

  1. Happy birthday and enjoy the day. My 70 was fun…that day was low key with a friend making me a pound cake. Lots of cards and gifts arrived…the next day I flew to Florida to celebrate with the family…we did pictures together at Penny.# gifts and cards…I still have the huge handmade one framed in bedroom…then to Indy with that group..gifts and cards and eating out…the final gift…three family members and I spent five days and nights on NYC…we went a few months after when less expensive…okay I will be 75 next year…if pandemic over ?…. NYC again…70 is a turning point…enjoy every day…you are amazing…

  2. Oh happy birthday (early) dear dear Terri! You have indeed been in a celebratory spirit for days now, and the big day is yet to dawn! Your family and friends are so generous and kind. This warms my heart!!!!

The fish ornaments are perfect for the office tree. What a hoot! Continue to have a happy day, a happy weekend, and yes by all means, order that shrimp Joe always got for you!!!

A pleasant distraction has come into my life of late, so I've been a little lax in keeping up with everything. But I do still pray for you daily. The Lord is clearly helping you and that encourages me.

  3. Terri: I would sing Happy Birthday to you but dogs in the neighborhood howl, their neighbors plug their ears and someone will call the cops, giggles.

  4. Awww, happy birthday to you! You are a very rich woman, richly blessed with friends and family! How nice to receive so many nice things, and all the going out, what fun! But the best part of this post, to me, is your co-worker being so happy about the tree. It makes me want to go to his house and set one up. You are a sunshine at your workplace. :)

  5. Happy Birthday, Terri!!! You are the perfect seven decades, my friend. I'm so pleased that so many gifts and treats have been coming your way in celebration. Friends are always important, but never more when special occasions call for it.
And I think you did a fantastic job with the office tree. So cute!
    Blessings!

  7. I didn't know it was almost your 70th! Pre-Happy Birthday friend! You sure don't look or act that age.
All the food sounds wonderful. I miss eating Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish. The one on St. Simon's Island closed awhile back. I was so sad about that. At least Longhorn's Steakhouse is still open in B'wick and they have Wild West Shrimp. I make a meal of that every time. *lol*
LOVE the Christmas tree. I might do that with the fishing ornaments to my office tree next year. Very clever.
    Love & Blessings. xx

  14. Oh Terri! Happy 70th Birthday tomorrow! I received your lovely Christmas card yesterday, and felt bad that I haven't sent the first card out yet, and now to realize tomorrow is your birthday and I haven't sent a card for that either! I apologize from the bottom of my heart. It sounds like you will have a most wonderful birthday with so many doing so many special things with you to help you celebrate. What a blessing. God is so good to know our needs and take care of them in special little ways. That bang bang shrimp idea sounds perfect. And I love the Christmas tree in the office. I am sure they all appreciate it AND you, and especially they will appreciate the brunch you are bringing them. That sounds like a wonderful idea and such good food! Yes, I know they all must just love you there!! Have a blessed and wonderful birthday Terri. God is so good to take care of all those special little details. He loves you very much. (And WE do too!)
