Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 413
2. Last time you needed to 'spring into action' or 'spring to someone's defense'...explain. I had to spring into action when Helen's niece told me she was moving out in a week. One week to get Helen moved to assisted living.
3. Tulips or daffodils? baby birds or baby bunnies? The cherry tree or the dogwood tree? Jelly beans or peeps? March madness or spring training? Peas or carrots? I like tulips AND daffodils; I like baby birds AND baby bunnies; how can anyone pick between cherry and dogwood blossoms? I will take jelly beans over peeps any day; March madness over spring training; I like peas AND carrots.
4. I read an article here on the South's best cities on the rise. They are-Baton Rouge Louisiana, Fayetteville Arkansas, Greenville South Carolina, Huntsville Alabama, Lexington Kentucky, Norfolk Virginia, Tulsa Oklahoma, Waco Texas, Wilmington North Carolina, and Winston-Salem North Carolina. Of the cities listed how many have you seen in person? Three. Which one on the list would you most like to see? Waco, TX Have you spent much time in the southern states (USA)? I live in Florida; vacationed in KY, SC, NC, GA. Any spring road trips on your calendar? Nothing more than a day-trip, so no.
5. Tell us how your outdoor space needs sprucing up this spring? Son, Joey, has already pressure washed the house and driveway. That's all that needed doing. Which do you enjoy more (or hate the least-ha!) yard work or housework? I loathe yard work.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I had a very nice day out with Elaine and Jim yesterday! I will save the pictures and talk more about it on Friday. It was just nice to get away for a few hours. I will be visiting Helen today.

OH how wonderful that Joey took care of the pressure washing, etc. That is a big deal! And I am looking forward to seeing your pictures and hearing about your little road trip with Elaine and Jim yesterday. I know you are sure going to miss them when they go home. Praying other neighbors and friends will step up to the plate and be there for you...oh, and that you get a job that you love. I liked your answers above, and agree with #3 on everything. Your answer to #2...wow! That was not much notice, but look what you (& God!) accomplished...and with everything else you had going on at the same time, that is pretty much miraculous. Praying Helen will be in good spirits today when you visit and that she is settling in. Did Cheryl move very far away? Does she visit Helen? Maybe she really needed a break...but still...that sure wasn't much notice. But I hope she is happy wherever she is. Sometimes God works in mysterious ways to get things done...and thankfully He gave you the ability to do what needed to be done. Praying that "all's well that ends well". Have a good day today.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
ReplyDeleteHope Helen will feel good when you visit her today. How wonderful that Joey did the pressure washing of the outside of the house....that is a job and glad you didnt have to do it. I have been to all the cities except Waco...been to Texas just not Waco. Hope you have a good Wednesday, sending love xoxo
ReplyDelete#3 was really hard, although I love love baseball so I would be attending some spring training games if I lived in south Florida:) Take care of yourself and I am hoping now that spring has sprung that the neighbors will all fill in for Jim and Elaine with lots of activities.
ReplyDeleteIt's very refreshing to get away for the day and see and do different things. I hope your day is good and the visit with Helen goes well. I'm keeping you in my prayers my friend...Helen too!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got away, smiles. I will look forward to your photos, Terri. smiles
ReplyDeleteWow....Huntsville Alabama made the cut! It is an atypical southern City as most of the inhabitants are from all over the USA and the world. But it is a nice place. I am happy I live in Decatur. Close enough to take the advantages of Hsv without having to deal with the traffic. Definitely jelly beans over Peeps.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that Tulsa, Oklahoma was on the list of cities. It's always been a good place, as well as the land of my birth! Like you, I don't care for yard work and am doing my best to get to a place in life where that will no longer be a requirement of me. In the meantime, I hire what can be done and just try to keep what I've got alive.
ReplyDeleteWith God, all things are possible! What do people do without HIM?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing all about your day out with Jim and Elaine, Terri. It's great you will be seeing Helen today, too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Hey Terri, I'll go to Waco with you! I'm guessing Chip and Joanna Gaines' place is on the itinerary? Off-hand, I can't think of anything I dislike more than yard work. 'Wish central Alabama offered something like what you're enjoying in Mas Verde.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of pressure washing, I need to do that too. I dread it though 'cause it hurts my shoulder and neck every time. Plus, I get soaking wet. Guess I'll wait for warmer weather.
ReplyDeleteI hope Helen is well and adjusting to her new home OK.
Blessings. xx

I'm glad you have friends helping you along the way. I know it will be another hard transition when they leave, but hopefully you have lots of other nearby friends too. Thanks for always commenting on my girl's blogs...we all feel like we know you : ) We hope to get to Indian Shores at some point to see friends and I'll let you know if we head that way. That's not too far from you is it?
ReplyDeleteNot far at all and I will drive to you if you don't have time to visit here in Lakeland! What fun!!
DeleteI'm glad Joey did the power washing for you. He's a good kid!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to any of those cities except Waco, and that was so fun!
So glad you got out and enjoyed yourself. I hope each week is bringing healing for you even though I'm sure your life will never be the same. Have a joy filled rest of the week.
