Tuesday 4....

Tuesday 4

Books/TV

Welcome to Tuesday 4 in memory of Toni Taddeo...

This week let's talk about books and TV programs you enjoy.

1. Are you enjoying a book right now and would you tell us about it?  I just finished a set of three that I can't even remember the name of.  I couldn't wait to finish the third one. An American stuck in France after an ESM  (electronic support warfare measures) shut down the entire world. It kept me going but I was so tired of it by the time I finished... and book 3 really didn't end. They want you to see what happens next in book 4. No thanks. I haven't started a new one yet.  I have not been excited about any books lately.

2. Do you have a list of books you are looking forward to reading in the near future?  I have lots of books on my Kindle. I will pick a new one to start tonight.

3. What's on television (or YouTube, etc.) at your house?  I am watching American Idol and am catching Someone Feed Phil again (3rd or 4th time) on Netflix, and 19-2 on Acorn.

4.What series have you followed religiously and why? (can be TV or book series)  Books would be Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.  TV would be Blue Bloods and the three Chicagos - PD, Med & Fire. I have given up on the NCISs.

I spent yesterday catching up on things and feeling bad about not seeing Helen on her birthday. Yesterday was the first day they are in the dining room for meals and they told me that they would celebrate her birthday so I will see her later today, after lunch with Joe's friend, David.  I got laundry done yesterday, sent notes to a few folks who probably hadn't heard about Joe's passing, I dropped a resume off at a location that advertised on Indeed.  It is a job I think I would enjoy so hope stopping by in person will help. I scheduled a carpet cleaner to come on Friday.  Haven't heard from Joey yet about when he will arrive but still expecting him tomorrow.

Peace & hugs!  Jesus loves us all!

  2. Is American Idol still going? My daughter was addicted to that show. I was down to watching just the original NCIS, but I have to admit that the latest season is sitting on my DVR and I can't seem to find the motivation to even start it. It is probably time for them to wrap it up.

  6. I am not so much of a TV watcher and often don't even turn it on during the day, but I do love to listen to podcasts or such while I am puttering around the house. Now, Hubby picks a Netflix series to watch through each night. His latest is Counterpart. If I like it what he chose I pay attention, if not, then I cross stitch. I read a couple of Chantel Cleeton books. One was so so and one was good. I am about to start a new book today. Two of my kiddos said it was great, so we will see.

  7. I have a list of books longer than my arm...lol. I have finally given myself permission not to have to finish a book that I started if it doesn't captivate me. I used to feel I had to read it to the bitter end.

I think about you there without Joe often. I hope you are finding some comfort in happy memories as the days move along. xo Diana

  8. I've had books that I've read and couldn't wait to finish! I felt like I was wading through them.

  9. One foot in front of the other. Just doing what needs to be done and trusting the Lord to bless it because He wants us to trust Him.

That pretty well describes both of us right now. Praying for you.

  10. We've been watching episode after episode of Grey's Anatomy, (with the four teenagers). I don't like all the cheating and fighting, ect, so much drama, started watching it just to watch something with them, and it's fun, but they get a little annoyed with my comments...I shout at the tv for them to stop being so stupid, don't hold grudges, do NOT start looking at that guy like that, ect. Books: I love Anne Tyler, and Taylor Caldwell, some Belva Plain. I buy them at the thrift store, read them, and donate them back, it's like renting. I hate when I read to the end of a poorly written book...

  11. I'm re-reading the book on Queen Eleanor (1100's Medieval England). It sure keeps my attention. What an interesting woman.
I think my favorite TV Series is "A Touch Of Frost". We have this series, and many others, on DVD. In my opinion, it's one of the best British Detective shows made to-date.

Keeping you wrapped in prayer my friend. xx

  12. I haven't been doing much reading lately. Not sure why. I just can't get into it. But we've been watching the old series "The Saint", with Roger Moore. There were six seasons, so that has kept us entertained for a while. We are in the 6th season now, so I don't know what we will do when it is over. I told John we should then watch all the James Bond movies that Roger Moore was in as 007, as I don't really recall watching them before because I liked Sean Connery better at 007 and didn't want to have a different James Bond. But now I like Roger Moore so much I want to watch them. LOL. Crazy, huh? Thinking about you this week and praying you have a blessed week. I hope Joey arrives as planned and that he is able to help you with everything you need right now. Praying the right job opens up for you right on time. God's timing is perfect...!! (((hugs))) and prayers and love to you dear friend.

  13. I'm in between books right now, too, Terri, and I certainly haven't had much interest in reading with Danny in the hospital. Good news, though - he's coming home today!
    Blessings!

  14. It's definitely understandable that you aren't into books right now...and some books are just like that. I really hate it when I am just waiting for it to be done. I've given up on NCIS for now. We watched it as far as Netflix went, but between that point and the current season there are 2 seasons I can't find to watch anywhere so I stopped. If those ever pop up I will watch them. I do like to watch the guy who played Tony on NCIS on Bull. Totally differenc character for him.

  15. I wish you could remember the name of the book. IT sounds like something I would enjoy reading.

  16. Besides the Chicago trilogy, I can't get enthused about much on TV. Oh wait! I totally spaced Idol and the Voice. Too early to pick a Voice favorite, but I'm leaning towards AI's Alanis and Beane. You?

Knock wood, I'm finally getting back in the reading groove with Mike Omer's Zoe Bentley (mystery) trilogy. Nail biters!

  17. Blue Bloods is a great series! I am also not fond of books that leave you hanging all the time. Thanks for joining in!!

  18. I had to take a break from reading a couple of weeks back. I just read so many books I got tired of reading, but I am reading a book now that I am enjoying. I may go back on my reading break after I finish though.
I am glad you got some things done. I hope you get to go see Helen. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

  19. We used to watch NCIS all the time, but we gave up on it too.
I just finished reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. If you ever see it, it's a good one. I hate those ones that you just keep reading to get done with them.
Praying the perfect job comes for you!
