A Matter of Time
Welcome to Tuesday 4, a collection of 4 questions each week. It is kept up in honor and memory of our dear friend Toni Taddeo, the founder of the meme.

Let's discuss time!
1. Are meals eaten at certain times in your home or are they more spontaneous? It all depends on what we are doing and who we are doing it with but if nothing is going on, we only eat two meals a day... a late breakfast and an early supper, both at about the same time.
2. If you attend religious services or club meetings, are they morning, afternoon, or evening? I don't belong to any clubs now. Our church only has one service, at 10:15 on Sunday morning. Are there advantages/disadvantages to that time? Our church service time is fine. The rest of the day stretches out in front of us, then.
3. Are you in bed and up in the mornings at a regular time each day? Pretty much the same unless we have something that requires an earlier wake-up.
4. Do you set apart specific times during the day or week to do certain things like study, shopping, laundry, visiting? Lately, Saturdays have been my laundry day. Shopping is spontaneous, usually, as is visiting. I don't study anymore. When you are retired, at least in our house, not much is "specific" anymore!
Thanks for your visit today!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

I am always amazed when you say you do laundry on one day of the week! Around here it seems as though we are doing laundry of one kind or another almost every day. I try to keep it to every other day, but with our son living here he is doing laundry sometimes every night since his work clothes are so dirty and sweaty! Our church service is at 9:30, which works out good for us and then we go out to "brunch" afterwards with church friends. Makes for a nice day. We aren't having evening services right now, so the rest of the day is just relaxing. We are early risers and early to bed'ers. LOL. My hubby tends to be very routine oriented, esp. for meals. So we pretty much stick to the "schedule" for meals and bedtime. It's okay, it works for me too. Have a blessed and wonderful rest of your week. My washer is already running, and it is only 6:10 a.m. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have always been a structured person but I admit, retirement has taught me that I can be a night owl. :) I do try to do my housework on a regular basis and we attend church on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBeing retired is so freeing, isn't it? We no longer are dictated to by a necessary schedule, and that feels so good, as I hate to be rushed, especially in the mornings. Blessings, Terri!
ReplyDeleteWe used to eat at regular times when Jim was still here, but with the group now it is any time between 5-9, mostly 9 and I go to bed about that time so I eat something earlier if it is that late. I love being retired but miss seeing people. I do laundry (just mine) on Tuesdays. Our Sunday School is at 10 and worship service at 11 and I like those times. Gives me time for an afternoon nap!
ReplyDeleteI was once a very structured person. I am still compared to most retired folks. I am not sure if that will change when Jeff retires, but all that to say I have loosened up in the past year. Maybe the times have taught me that.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers, Terri. Smiles...I personally thrive on a schedule. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm already not very specific now...maybe I'll get more specific and organized when we're retired? Ha! Have a great day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteI always believed I performed better in a structured environment ... but all that's fallen by the wayside since retirement. (Wheeeee!) However, I still wash laundry late nights, then put in the dryer early the next morning to avoid heating up the house.
ReplyDeleteBTW, how are you enjoying the new air fryer?
I like it very much! Have done french fries three times and they come out perfectly crunchy on the outside. The toaster function took some getting used to but we use it nearly every morning and it is fine now. I used the oven function for Pillsbury biscuits and they were fine. I have learned to reduce the time needed by five or ten minutes. It bakes and toasts and 'fries' faster than my big oven. I am very happy with it.
DeleteI love being on my own schedule. Loved your answers! Have a great Tuesday!

We usually do grocery shopping and laundry on set days. Everything else is done whenever. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYour schedule sounds a lot like mine - I am kind of a structured person too.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I'm up by 2:30 a.m. because I can't sleep.
I always have to have my morning coffee.
We eat whenever we want.
Have a great Tuesday my friend.
Isn't retirement great!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to retire in 13 months and see what my schedule will become!!
ReplyDeleteI love the spontaneity of retirement!! Hope all is well with you and Joe.
ReplyDeleteMy laundry day comes when the basket's full. However the system doesn't really work because more often that not it's two loads! :)
ReplyDeleteWe are pretty structured here - because we both work, and because that's just how Bob is. Our church also meets at 10:15. That works well for us too!
ReplyDeleteMeal are so spontaneous at my house! I grew up with dinner on the table at 6pm every night. So I rebelled. LOL We eat when we decide we're hungry. Could be 4:15 or 7:30pm. And since I work from home, my breakfast and lunch can be any time I please.
