Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 371
1. What's something you could do today to feel more peaceful? Stop scrolling through Facebook and pray!
2. June 2nd is National Rotisserie Chicken Day. Who knew? Are you a fan of rotisserie chicken? You've purchased one at your local market for tonite's dinner. Will you serve as is or make something else using the chicken? We do like a rotisserie chicken. We eat it as is and then use the leftovers for soup the next day.
3. I read a list recently (go here to read more) of 20 of the most beautiful places in America. How many of these have you seen up close and in person? Of the sites on this list that you haven't seen, which would you most like to see?
Antelope Canyon Arizona, Kenai Fjords Alaska, White Mountains New Hampshire, Crater Lake Oregon, The Palouse Washington and Idaho, Grand Prismatic Spring Wyoming, Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Oregon, Horsehoe Bend Arizona, Na Pali Coast Kauai Hawaii, Antelope Valley California, Lake Tahoe California, The Berkshires Massachusetts, Maroon Bells Colorado, Angel Oak South Carolina, Acadia National Park Maine, Grand Teton National Park Wyoming, Turnip Rock Michigan, Central Park New York City, Niagara Falls New York, and Skagit Valley Tulip Fields Washington.
Gosh, the only place on that list that I have been is Niagara Falls. I haven't even heard of a few of those.
4. What's one pretty spot you'd add to the list in question #3? Are there travel plans of any kind on your calendar right now? Does that make you happy, anxious, excited, sad, or relieved? I would add the entire Gulf Coast of Florida to that list!! LOL So beautiful. We have no travel plans on the calendar. It doesn't make me feel any of those emotions. We are comfortable home-bodies. We were thinking about a trip to Nashville for our 35th wedding anniversary, which was May 11th. The pandemic and my knee surgery put that trip on the back burner. We may resurrect it for Fall. Time will tell.
5. Tell us one un-COVID related thing you're looking forward to in the month of June. I am getting my stitches out tomorrow and I am sure looking forward to that. I am looking forward to getting the rest of my physical therapy done so my new knee is working for me. I am also looking forward to a massage on Monday!
6. Insert your own random thought here. We "interviewed" a house cleaner yesterday morning and she is going to start next week, coming once a month to do the heavier cleaning for us. I just can't clean like the cleaning needs to be done. I can do light vacuuming, spot mopping, dusting, etc., in between, but I can't scrub, mop well, and get under things. She was recommended by a friend from church and seems really nice. Her fee was great and I'm looking forward to a clean house!!

That's all I have for the Hodgepodge!
Thanks for your visit!
Peace & hugs!! God bless!!

Oh please send your new housekeeper person up here when she's done at your house! LOL. I know exactly what you mean about getting into those hard to get to places. Since my surgery I just don't have the strength to do much vacuuming or mopping, etc. Hubby does what he can, but somehow he doesn't "get it" about all those other places that are hard to get to. I may have to give that idea some consideration. I am so happy you are about to get your stitches out and more PT and even a massage! Now that sounds good to me! We love rotisserie chicken too. It makes for a quick and delicious meal.I'm glad our little grocery store here in town makes good rotisserie chicken...and fried chicken too! Comes in handy when I don't feel like cooking! I think everyone's travel plans for this year got put on hold. Out of that list above, we used to live in the White Mountains of NH...and it is absolutely gorgeous...esp. in the fall! Not too crazy about the winters, so here we are in Florida! Have a blessed day my friend. Go get those stitches out!!
ReplyDeleteNiagra Falls is the only one of that list I've been to also. I love buying rotisserie chicken. I use it all the time.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I love rotisserie chicken as it is. Glad you are getting those stitches out!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the hiring of a housecleaner coming from good recommendations. That's half the battle right there.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, too, on the progress with your knee!
I have been to a couple of the places listed and wish I could have gone to more. Getting those stitches out will make a difference and that massage will be the icing on the cake! You are so smart to get a housecleaner and hope it works out good for you. It is harder and harder to do the deep cleaning for me too.
ReplyDeleteI know you will be glad to get the stitches out and continue healing. I am keeping you in my prayers. Enjoy your day! Fun post!
ReplyDeleteIt seems we all recognize Facebook can be a real downer. That makes me sad because of what it says about us as humans. FB could be and often is a very positive thing, but we have to go and muck it up. Great news about the stitches! You are doing great with the knee. I am terribly jealous that you got a cleaning lady! Have a great day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting some household help. I cleaned my house yesterday, took some Tylenol, got a hot shower and collapsed.lol I usually do a room a day but I wanted the whole house to be clean at one time. Porbably not going to happen again.lol
ReplyDeleteHow I'd love to have a house cleaning lady, Terri, even though I'm still pretty capable of doing it all. Love a clean house, but hate cleaning, if you catch my drift. So glad your stitches are coming out tomorrow and you can look forward to a massage, too. I haven't had one of those in ages!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
You will enjoy the housecleaner so much. I have tried to keep up, but realize that it needs more than I can give. So glad your knee is on the mend. You're so right about Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI am happy with you those stitches are coming out. The Gulf Coast is so pretty but it is losing its allure so fast these days. It has been discovered and becoming so very crowded. I had a lady that helped me when I was still teaching. It is nice to have someone do some of that deeper cleaning, but very hard to find a good one.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on having those stitches removed, Terri! How I'd love to have someone come to help with big projects -- both inside and out. I'm not comfortable either of us going up on a ladder, but Tom's easily offended. (*sigh*) So glad to know I'm not the only one who didn't recognize most of those places.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have someone come and clean your house and congrats on getting the stitches out tomorrow. Hope your fully recovered very quickly. Enjoy your massage.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!!!! I would love to have someone come do the heavy cleaning. One of our duaghters has someone who helps with her working & having 3 boys... my excuse? I have 3 dogs ;) LOL
ReplyDeleteA housekeeper! How wonderful! Hubs helps a lot around here, otherwise I'd hire one for sure : ) So glad your knee is healing nicely. You'll be in good walking shape for that Nashville trip, come fall! Fingers crossed of course : )
ReplyDeleteJoe used to help a lot but when his health got worse and my knees got worse, we had to have help. Not having help for the past 5-6 months has been killing me so I am happy to have at least once a month. We really can't afford more than that but feel blessed for what we can do!!
DeleteI agree with you totally!
ReplyDeleteWe all need to stop and pray!
I would love to be in a cabin by a babbling brook right now. So hot here! And pray!
I'm glad your knee is doing so well and that the stitches are coming out.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are getting a house cleaner. I want one too. :)
Yes, ALL God's people earnestly praying is what is so needed. Know your knee will feel better when the stitches are OUT. Keep on keeping on!
