I'll start my recap on Thursday. The day started with my chiropractor appointment. It was my last scheduled appointment for spinal decompression until I can get out again after my knee surgery. From there, I stopped at a neighborhood deli on the way to my friend, Shirley's house for a proper social distancing lunch. We really enjoyed the company and visiting.
When I got home from lunch with Shirley, we had to round up the three cats for their trip to the Vet. It is always a circus but we manage it. We got there and the vet-techs were coming out to the cars to pick up the animals for their appointments. When they kept by-passing us, Joe called and learned they had us down for this coming Thursday. WHAT?! We had to cancel it for this coming week because there is no way I'll be able to help wrestle them into their carriers. We will make it for sometime in June. Here they are, lined up in our backseat...
On Friday, we started the day at Eyeglass World. We usually get our glasses at Sam's Club but their optical department is closed, as is Walmart's. We found frames we like and the price we got for both pairs of glasses was less than we usually get at Sam's. We were very happy. Turn around is about 10 days. Paid cash, thanks to our stimulus check!
After that, we went to Dollar General for some greeting cards. Family birthdays are coming up and I'll be stuck at home (how different!) with my knee so I wanted to get those in hand through June. I'm terrible about sending greeting cards and always feel bad when I forget special events. Got that errand done and then we went to the grocery specifically for meat. We weren't there to hoard but we hadn't bought much meat lately and were running low on beef.
Saturday brought us an invitation to lunch with our neighbors, Bob and Sharon. They did hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, and baked beans, with apple pie for dessert. We played three rounds of a fun board game. It was so fun to visit again and have some conversation and fun!
Yesterday, we had our Facebook Live church and Pastor Brian had a great message about anger. If you are interested, here is Redeemer's Facebook page and you can find the feed there: https://www.facebook.com/redeemerlakeland. It was very interesting to hear about the difference between righteous anger and selfish/sinful anger. Never thought about it that way before. Our praise team this week was Eli Mosley and his wife, Anna. Eli is an up-and-coming country musician with a few CDs out. The music has just a touch of country and was great. His parents are part of our community group. Good people.
Helen and Cheryl had us over for Mother's Day lunch. I tell Helen that she is my adopted mom. Cheryl bought a family meal from Cheddar's and it was very good. We took dessert (chocolate cake). It was a fun couple of hours and we were entertained by Cheryl's dog, Oz, after we ate...
I had a text conversation with daughter-in-law, Darlene, and I got to talk on the phone to Joey a couple of days ago (he is in Kuwait) and Jeff called yesterday. It is always better to see them in person but hearing their voices (and Happy Mother's Day) is the next best thing.
Today is our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Hard to believe it has been 35 years. God bless him for putting up with me!! We intended to take a little trip to Nashville. We have never been there. C-19 kind of put the kibosh on those plans but we may still give it a go in the Fall if things have opened up again. We try to do a special trip on each of the 5-year anniversaries. We went to New Orleans for our 30th. Anyway, we are spending this Covidaversary with me getting a C-19 test ahead of my surgery tomorrow. We might try to get into a restaurant for dinner... or just order in. Not sure yet.
That catches you up! Thanks for your visit!!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

Wow, what a weekend you have had. We had an appointment scheduled for our cat a few weeks ago, but had to cancel because we couldn't catch him to put him into the carrier. Thar cat can run! You are so fortunate to be able to meet up with friends if only from a distance. We are in lock down for another month. Sigh. I sure miss being able to have lunch with my friends. Happy anniversary! I hope you are having a great day together.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend and glad things have opened up.. Thinking of you as I am sure you will be happy to get your surgery over.

ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Happy Anniversary and when you go to Nashville, you must stop for lunch or a snack in Decatur. I am only 5 minutes off the interstate and just an hour and a half from Nashville.
ReplyDeleteI will keep you posted!!
DeleteOh, I hope things open up by fall so you can celebrate...and you'll have your new knee so no pain! We went on the cruise last year to celebrate our 35th. Have a blessed day and a wonderful week!

Love, sandie
Yes and changed to EARLY now. We have to be there at 5:15 a.m.!!
DeleteHAPPY ANNIVERSARY blessings! I so need to get over to Dollar Tree and buy more detergent (thanks for that tip) and more greetings cards to have on hand. Love how you're able to get out and about with your gal pals, the neighbors … even Helen/Cheryl. (Oz is soooo cute!) Tom and I've talked about going to Nashville someday, too. Neither of us have been and it's not terribly far.
ReplyDeleteYou really have been busy! I'm so glad you've had a great weekend, and now you are ready to settle down and get that knee fixed tomorrow! I am sure you will be getting to bed a little earlier tonight since you have an early trip in the morning. You will have an anniversary getaway to look forward to when you are feeling up to "dancing" again! Love the picture of the two of you. You were both so "cute". Happy Anniversary!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary. You get that knee done and maybe this big C thing will blow over and y'all can take a fall trip. Jeff and I try to do something every 5 years too. We actually didn't get to have a honeymoon all those years ago. I had just started a new job, so we got married over Labor Day weekend and then that summer we took a trip to Nashville. We called that our honeymoon. I don't know if you ever followed country music, but Hank Locklin, a real oldie but goldie lived in my hometown so he got us really good tickets to the Opry. I think nowadays you could probably go to just about anywhere there and listen to good music though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer about the vet visit!
ReplyDeleteYay for 35 years! You and Joe are such a cute and loving couple.
Tomorrow! Soon you will be home and rehabbing.
Belated anniversary wishes Terri and hoping that by now the surgery is done and you are recovering well. Shame about the vet visit, I know how hard it is to catch one cat let alone three!
