Continuing the tradition of sharing photos from the week on Fridays!
Thanks, Deb, for starting this journey!
Our beautiful Lake Morton, on Tuesday of this week.
We got to the farm (Joe's client) on Wednesday. Three little babies greeted us as we entered
the property. So cute!
I drove back to Doc and Pistol this week since I missed them last week.
They have been joined by Danny (on the left) who is being boarded there.
All three got my love and some carrots and apples.
Such a pretty view from my perch on the patio!
Cattle have taken over the pasture where Pistol and Doc used to be. That's another baby!
Beautiful flowers blooming. I have no idea what it is but it has prickly thorns.
And more cattle saw us off as we left the property.
--------------------------------------------------
Just a quick note that my pre-op went fine yesterday. It was pouring rain on the way there which wasn't fun, but I got there just fine AND found a good spot in the parking garage, not too far from the elevators. I was given a mask at the entrance and had my temp taken before they would let me in, but let me in they did. It all took nearly four hours. Going over meds & history, X-rays, EKG, blood draw, peed in a cup, was interviewed by a case manager about my home and whether I needed placement in a rehab home, then had an interview with the anesthesiologist. Got it all done and got home right at 1:30.
I think I am good to go. I get the C-19 test on the 11th. The nurse said it takes about six hours to get the results and that they would call me at home. Right now the surgery is scheduled for 1:30, with arrival time at 11:00 a.m. Joe can only wait in the surgical waiting room and after the doctor talks to him when the surgery is over, he has to leave. He can't go to my room with me or even see me in recovery. I told him I didn't want him to bother staying. He can just drop me off like last time. No sense in him being there by himself for 4-5 hours and not even getting to be with me. Good grief!
So this is longer than a quick note, but now you are up-to-date! I'm just a little angry about the rules but understand why they are in place, and I sure don't want Joe to be exposed to C-19 or anything else. It's okay.
That's all I have for Friday and this first day of May.
Thanks for your visit!
Thanks for your visit!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

That picture of flowers with the thorns is a "Crown of Thorns" plant. I know, because I have one too. A friend from church gave it to me just before Easter. Love the pastoral scenery of the farm...the cows, calves, horses, all the "fowl" in the field, so very peaceful and relaxing. I love farms, having been born on one, but we left when I was 5, so I never got to really enjoy it. But I am definitely a country girl at heart. Loved your Lake Morton scene too. I am glad your pre-op appt. went well. So happy they are letting elective surgeries take place again. They may be "elective", but to the person in pain, they are very necessary. You might want to double check about having Joe leave while you are in surgery. Some places require that someone be there from the family in case of emergency issues. That may just be in the case of "out-patient" surgery, but I would check if I were you before then just to be sure. Having just gone through surgery recently, it seemed to me that they wanted someone there in case something happened that they needed consent for. I could be wrong...but I'd still check to be sure. We will all be praying for you and trusting the Lord to take care of all yours and Joe's needs during your surgery and recovery/recuperation. You are going to be just fine! Have a blessed and beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI was alone the last time because Joe was so sick. They have his cellphone number. It's okay.
DeleteI knew someone would know the flower's name. Thanks!
DeleteI am glad you are all scheduled and it is indeed weird times. I too wouldn't want to unnecessarily want to expose Joe, so that means you will get extra prayers from this direction. Hopefully by the time you are all recovered from this one we will be on the other side of the C word and you can get out and enjoy the pretty land that is Central Florida.
ReplyDeletePretty pictures and I'm sure it was nice to get out and about for a while. Yes, the rules are frustrating, but we understand why they are there. As I always tell myself about bad things...this too, shall pass. One day this will all be a distant memory. I'm so glad everything looks good and is all set for your surgery...now to get you to the day virus free! Have a blessed day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Terri!
ReplyDeleteYes, the rules are frustrating, at least you are allowed to have this surgery, here, no go.
Keeping in prayer.
Oh, I love the landscape fotos - and the one of the baby calves might just be my favorite! So glad yesterday went well, but I bet you were exhausted when you finally got home. Prayers for your surgery - little pain and fast healing. (about the Blue Diamond cookware - I got mine on Amazon for $75 - not as much as Bed Bath and Beyond - it just takes a couple of weeks for it to ship - I really think you'd like it) HOPE you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove all the babies. I'm glad your pre-op visit went well. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAre there any plants in Florida that are not prickly? Just my experience from someone who loved to garden but didn't find it much of a joy in Fl.... :)
ReplyDeleteThat fushia flower is so pretty!! Glad all is done in the prep for surgery. I know you will be glad to have it done and be on the way to two good knees.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that your pre-op went okay. Great pics. Enjoy your weekend and stay healthy.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know your pre-op went smoothly, Terri. And I loved your photos today, especially seeing the little calves. Yes, they are too cute!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I love the pictures of the cows. I'm not really sure why, because while I was in high school, my dad had cows and it never crossed my mind to take a picture, plus I was rather afraid of them because they are so big. lol But go figure...I love seeing pictures now and even snapping a few myself.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all went well at pre-op. Praying the surgery and recovery and rehab go great also!!
Gosh, I'd love to drive around Lake Morton again! What a bummer about Joe not even being able to see you post-surgery. That's got to be an emotional time for him, as well. Is there anyone perhaps willing to come along and keep him company?
ReplyDeleteThey only let one person wait.
DeletePretty pictures of the lake and the farm.
ReplyDeleteGlad that testing is done and soon the surgery will be too. Everything is so much harder with Covid and I'm sorry Joe can't stay with you.
I love the farm - what I would give to be able to ride and look at animals for something to do.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your surgery is ready to go.
They sure do have things down to a science- don't they?
Love, sandie
Pretty pictures! Is that a crown of thorns plant? the calves are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThis past year has been bizarre with the restrictions on visiting hospital patients, and even more so for you and Joe when you and he were both hospitalized last August and all that involved.
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad your surgery seems to be coming together well but will breathe easier once it's behind you and you are back at home. You are in my prayers. You know that.
The photo of Lake Morton -- I love it. I remember it from our visit to see you.
