It is so fun having the Wednesday Hodgepodge back! You can visit Joyce and join in HERE!
Thank you, Joyce!!
We're still here. In our own little houses with plenty of time to blog, so why not join the Wednesday Hodgepodge? Answer the questions on your own blog, then hop back here tomorrow to share answers with the universe. See you there!
1. Has spring sprung in your part of the world? We see spring flowers beginning in February, here in Florida. How can you tell? Everything is blooming! Did March come in like a lion where you live? Nope. March has been more lamb-like. Going out like a lamb or something more ferocious? Today we have a nice breeze and temps in the mid-80s. Beautiful and lamb-like!
2. The last thing that caused you to spring to your feet? Ha! I don't spring to my feet for anything anymore! The last thing I hurried somewhere was probably to see which cat was having a problem and where. That sound all pet lovers know and dread. Thankfully it is usually just a hairball.
3. Do you have a spring clean to-do list? No. What's one chore on the list you've already managed to accomplish? I've been thinking about taking curtains down to wash. That is all I've managed... thinking about it. What spring clean chore do you most dread? I dread all cleaning chores.
4. Tell us something you've learned about yourself or the wider world as a result of social distancing/the virus crisis. What I have learned is nothing new. It is so easy for common sense to go out the door and a mob mentality to take over when people are afraid. There has been no need to hoard anything, let alone toilet paper. How did that even become a thing? It is also not new that I miss our worship services and our community group get-togethers. I am missing my physical therapy and hope what I continue doing here at home will keep me going until I can get in again to see the professionals (end of April). My biggest burden is that I am impatient - with myself first and then with others. I know this and work on it daily but misinformation and people just being mean has me talking to myself. My mantra... RELAX! God is in control. I must trust Him!! I DO trust in Him!
5. Something you love that's the color pink? I mentioned in one of my blogs last week that I always get compliments when I wear pink. Right now the only thing pink in my closet is a light wool blazer that I haven't worn since I retired. I do love it though!
6. Insert your own random thought here. Joe and I went out today because we were going stir crazy. I wanted to see if the little Farmer's Market down the street was open and it was. I needed tomatoes and got some. We decided to drive past Winn Dixie to see if they had spring water. I am a spring water drinker... all day long, and we ran out a few days ago. HOORAY!! Winn Dixie had their brand of spring water. Joe was able to get 24 bottles for me!! I'm a happy girl!

It is fun having the Hodgepodge back! Please visit Joyce and check out what all the Hodgepodges have to say about these questions! I also posted my Whimisacle Wednesday today and it is a bridal gown!!
Thanks for your visit!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

Oh, I am glad to see that you also posted a Whimsical Wednesday...I was thinking when I opened your post here this morning that I was looking forward to seeing what beautiful gown would appear, and I must admit I was disappointed not to see it! But this was good too. I liked your comment, "I dread all cleaning chores." You are a girl after my own heart. I look around and I see what needs to be done, but of course right now I have a good excuse not to do them since I am still in recovery mode...but they are starting to nag at me, and hubby just can't see them at all. Men just aren't trained to see all those little dusty corners and places that begin to mount up when we don't take care of them regularly. But oh, I do dread doing them. I am not a pink person, having been a redhead and pink clashed with my hair. LOL. Now it probably wouldn't matter, but I still don't do pink. We finally got a good rain last night when this cold front blew through. I am waiting for the sun to come up so I can go see if it helped our poor pond to regain some water. It was getting too dry. We sure needed the rain. Would've liked for it to stay around longer, but we did get some cooler weather for the next few days, which is nice!! Stay safe, my friend, and relax and enjoy these peaceful days. Stay away from the "mean" people...I have to sometimes shut everything down and get away from it all. We take a ride to our walking place, and John walks while I take pictures of weeds and things. LOL. Have a blessed day dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI dislike cleaning, too, Terri, but always feel better once it's done. Like you, I'm really missing going to church, but I keep reminding myself that this, too, shall pass. April is going to be a LONG month!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I dread the cleaning too but give in and eventually do it....I can only go so long. We are having a sunny but too cool day but to warm up by weekend. We do having flowers blooming and trees too. It will be good when this is over to get out and do what we want, when we want to. Til then, we are housebound. Have a good Wednesday Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of the domestic chores, either, but I guess someone has to do them so we don't end up on some "reality" TV show! lol
ReplyDeleteI was listening to some expert on the radio the other day and he was explaining the toilet paper phenomenon. He said that when people feel that everything is out of their control they need to find something they can control. That makes sense to me...but I still don't see why they chose toilet paper. He didn't really explain why we've fixated on that particular item.
Glad you and Joe are still doing well. Have a good day!
I told someone the other day that I was glad no one was hoarding toothpaste and deodorant!! LOL
DeleteHA! I am also thinking about taking things down to wash and I am also thinking of dusting, LOLOL.
ReplyDeleteWe have to head out today to see what the grocery stores have, sigh.
Pink is one of my favorite colors. It just makes me happy. We are getting a bit stir crazy as well Terri. I went to the little grocery store nearby and picked up some stamps at their satellite post office. Sunny today so hoping to get a walk in later.
ReplyDeleteLOL on 'that' noise we parents all know! Our March 31 behaved quite obnoxiously -- tornados to the north and south of us; thankfully no loss of life. I wanted to play along today but haven't a single pink thing -- much less, one that I love. I'll probably post a "Water Cooler Wednesday" later this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteUgh I hate cleaning too. Yay on getting your spring water. I was happy on our last grocery trip that I was able to get my yogurt and almond milk. Hoping that the next grocery trip will be the same. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI needed to get out today since the weather was so pretty so I went for a ride....and a walk! Felt great to drive my car! lol Glad you got some of the things you needed! Stay healthy! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteA common sense mentality has gone out the door -- yes, we see that here, too. We were at Walmart today and STILL, the tp shelves are absolutely bare. The rest of the grocery inventory was better than I've seen in weeks. But yes, what's the deal with the toilet paper hoarding? Are Floridians doing this due to the pandemic AND hurricane prep?
ReplyDeleteEggs here are not to be found.. Not sure what is with it.... eggs only keep so long....
ReplyDeleteTerri, I'm so glad that you found your tomatoes and water! We are pretty well stocked up for now. I haven't even thought about spring cleaning. Maybe I can skip it this year as we moved in the new house in November??
ReplyDeleteI think you have a pass for this year, Gina!
DeleteGlad you got out today. I am not sure our lockdown is really going to do much. I was already pretty much locked down. I haven't really seen a whole lot of activity in our neighborhood. With all the news and Jeff on the phone all day trying to keep school going online I can't concentrate to do much at all, so cleaning will be bare minimum.
ReplyDeleteYes, getting out, just even for a drive in the car can be a nice break. I have to stay out of the stores due to my immune system and at first it was really hard...getting used to it a bit more. The "kids" are pretty much picking up what we need although against our better judgment, Jim had been doing the shopping...probably not a great idea. Not much room for germs to escape this little RV! Getting outside as much as possible is my new goal. Sure hope you are able to get your PT at the end of the month! Enjoyed all your answers and especially your honesty on #4. Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteYou should have put on that pink blazer and let Joe take a pic of you! I mean, really, Pamela puts on her Easter outfit for us!!!
