Thankful Thursday...

Rebecca Jo hosts us to share our blessings on Thankful Thursday.  You can link up and join in HERE!  Thanks, Rebecca Jo!!

I am late posting today!  I just didn't get to it last night and my day started early with a chiropractor appointment followed by my physical therapy appointment.  Then Joe and I went to the grocery to pick up a few more things we might need if this self-isolation tightens up more over the next few weeks.  Ice cream was first on our list... not toilet paper! LOL

So... I am thankful that we can still get out and about a bit and that the grocery stores here are being very vigilant about cleaning the carts and the check-out counters, etc.  Paper products are in short supply as is bottled water but we were able to get dairy and meat and frozen products with no problem.

I am thankful that our church will have services on Facebook for us.  All church activities, including worship services, have been canceled for at least three weeks.  Schools are closed here until April 15.   I am really missing our small group friends and getting hugs on Sunday morning.  I am a hugger and I really miss it.  Here at Mas Verde, the clubhouse has closed and all activities (including the pool) have closed or been canceled.  Neighbors are 'air-hugging' from six feet away.  We all need to be responsible for doing our part in stopping the spread of this covid-19.

We got our census information in the mail today.  Has yours arrived yet?  I am thankful to do my part in this every 10-years count.  I have relied on many census records from years past when researching my genealogy.  It is important for many reasons.

I am thankful for each of you!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Peace & hugs!
Remember that God is in control!!
He's got this!

  1. Yes!!! We received ours today, in the mail! How cool is that, smiles.

Ice cream is a must! I see Walmart had ice cream for a $1.97!! I didn't buy any due to the fact our freezers are full, grin.

    Have a great day, friend.

  2. Our Census form was in today's mail, too! How funny!
Our Wal-Mart is still full of crazy folks, but not so Winn-Dixie and Publix. Happy to see, they're setting aside early-morning shopping for folks 65+.

'Miss hugging my church friends most of all. I understand why, but really, really dislike the term, social distancing.

  4. Some of our places to eat at are either closed or only get your order through drive-thru. Even some of our grocery stores are limiting items per customer. Schools are closed here for several weeks. In some eating places there can not be any salad bars.
I'm sure there are more things going on here, but that is enough to say for now.

  6. We got our census packet last week. This week came the letter to remind us to get it done or they're going to fine you. PA's governor just issued a decree that all non-life sustaining businesses MUST close by 8:00 tonight. Tim hasn't heard from his company yet, but the news says construction sites are included. We also were talking tonight about my job. My hands are tied in activities as we can't let the residents touch anything or be too close to each other, can only have 5 together in a room. It's pretty much pointless for me to be there and they are telling us as health care workers to not go to stores...and that probably means don't visit my parents or my young grandchildren and I still worry about getting stuck and quarantined at the home for the duration. I don't think it's worth it for a part-time job. I know we have to do our part, but I sure hope this craziness is over soon.

  7. I am thankful for so many things. Our church is so small that we are still open. Joe is preaching on Sunday while our Pastor is away. I film everything and put it on YouTube and Facebook. I am not a hugger and am sort of glad that hugging is off limits right now. I went shopping on Monday and was able to get almost everything on my list. I am just doing my regular shopping and not hoarding. I see no sense in that. I got my census form about 2 weeks ago. I still haven't done it. I have to get on that. I use lots of census records in my genealogy search so I know how important they are.

  8. We got our census stuff today. I must say I laid it on my desk. I will open it tomorrow. I wonder if all of this will change hugging and handshakes. I do hope not because I would find that very sad.

  9. We haven't gotten our census stuff yet.
Our church is also closed but will be live streaming. I'm hoping that I don't have to work on Sunday and will join Bob in watching.

  11. Haven't got the census form yet, though I don't think we checked the mail yesterday. Glad you are all staying safe in your neck of the woods, Terri.
    Blessings!
