Monday's Weekend Update...

Other than our community's annual Chili Cook-Off, our weekend was quiet and uneventful.  I actually woke up Saturday morning with a sore throat and this nearly 3-month long cold getting worse again.  Grrrrrr!!  I rallied around in time to attend the chili contest/dinner but that was it.

There were three tables of chili with 18 entries in all!!

It was well attended and the three winners won $75, $100, and top prize $125!

We sat with our good friends and wonderful neighbors,
Jill and Murray, and...

Tim and Judy.  We had a good time!

We set the alarm for Sunday school and church, but my sore throat was back and I'm coughing and blowing again so we stayed home.  One of our church friends called us to see if we were okay.  Bless our church family!!  We are so very blessed!

Helen and Cheryl came by Sunday afternoon for a little visit.  I bade them enter at their own risk, and did not offer hugs.  Jill was one of the entrants for the chili contest and she had lots of it leftover.  Murray brought some to us and we had it for our supper.  It was nice to not cook!

So, that was our weekend!  I FINALLY get to go to the physical therapist tomorrow for this SI joint pain.  On to better days!!!

Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

    1. No, we were randomly assigned to one of three so only tasted 6-7 each, but when the tasting and voting was done, we could fill our bowl from any table.

  8. Man! I hope you get better soon. It seems a lot of people are getting this crud that just keeps coming back over and over.

We're have a chili luncheon at our church on the 22nd of this month. I can't wait. I think it's going to be so much fun! That sure was nice of your friends to bring you some for your Sunday dinner when you weren't feeling good.

  9. Prayers lifted for a speedy recovery! With so much crud floating around, staying home from church was a wise decision -- but I love how your new church family cares for you.

We have terrible colds in our area too. I have a little sore throat and am praying it isn't the start of something. :)

  13. Oh bless you heart!! I'm so sorry your throat hurts and your cold has decided to make a comeback. That really stinks! I pray it will not hang on long this time.

The chili cook off looks like a lot of fun. I think I make pretty good chili, but I never entered a contest.
