Thanks to Annie for this week's questions. You can find her HERE!!
Welcome to Tuesday 4,
begun by Toni Taddeo and kept going in her memory.
This week is about reading, or TV or movies if you are not a real reader.
Let's jump right in:
This week is about reading, or TV or movies if you are not a real reader.
Let's jump right in:
1. Do you have some favorite books to share? (if you don't read, how
about favorite TV programs or movies?) Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett, and all eight Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon.
2. When looking
for a book (or program) what things do you look for? I like historical novels and mysteries. If it doesn't grab me by the second chapter, I put it down. I read for entertainment.
3. Does the cover
of a book make a difference or help you choose? (or do trailers help you decide
on a TV or movie program?) Book covers can make a difference. My books are all on my Kindle Fire so I really don't pay much attention to the covers. TV and movie trailers are made to pull you in and many times don't have anything to do with what the story is about.
4. What is your favorite genre of book, TV or movie? That
is, is it science fiction, romance, mystery, true story, biography? I like medical and detective shows on TV. I also enjoy some of the make-over shows on HGTV. We don't' watch too many movies anymore. I am not into science fiction. I answered books in #2.
Thanks for visiting today!
Peace & hugs. God bless.

I really need to read Pillars of the Earth. It's one of those I've always meant to get to. Have a great day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteI like mysteries and right now I am reading a Lee Child book. On tv I prefer medical or 'who done it' type shows. Am not into the futuristic type shows with monsters, etc.
ReplyDeleteI like the cozy mysteries in books. Or the Amish romances. Not much for thrillers. I get pulled in and get too upset. Right now I have three books going. Whatever I feel like reading, I pick up.
ReplyDeleteMysteries, biographies and just a really good story of any kind are my favorite reads. And yes I am really influenced by the book covers. I have gotten some losers that had pretty covers so I obey the old adage, You cant tell a book by its cover.:)
ReplyDeleteI like thrillers, mysteries and some detective books. I got rid of all my books. I get Kindle books from the library. I love my Kindle.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I need to find out more about the Outlander series. I wonder if I would like it too! Enjoy your day and this 'warm' weather! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you joined in, smiles. I will have to look into the Outlander series. Have a great day, friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteHi Terri: I enjoyed your answers. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGreetings.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I read for entertainment too and for learning (bible and studies) and some self help (I need a lot) books. My sister loves that Outlander series too.
ReplyDeleteSo question - are the Outlander books hard to understand? Complicated? I've been afraid to dig into them
ReplyDeleteI don't read books that are hard to understand! LOL If you can get past them being about time travel, from WWII back to 1740s Scotland and just go with it, the characters are so well written and the story line is based on true history and (some) real characters that are well researched, they are great! The TV series on Starz follows the books fairly well. Each season is a book. You have to start with book one with this series. Picking up book five will leave you wondering who and what and why. They are also about 900+ pages long. I will read them again some day. Book 9 should be out this year (hope!) and she has started book 10. Book 8 does leave you hanging. I loved them!!
DeleteI read cookbooks! That's an odd habit that I fell into when I was given a cookbook on my twentieth birthday.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you joined in.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your answers.
Necessary Lies is a good historical fiction book. I enjoyed it very much. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

I like historical novels and mysteries, too, Terri. I'm currently reading Five Red Herrings by Dorothy Sayers. Have you read any of her books?
ReplyDeleteBlessings, my friend!
I have read one or two years ago, but I really enjoyed the PBS movies of her books. I need to search for some of those to watch again. Five Red Herrings was one of them. Hadn't thought of it in years.
Delete#2 -- exactly! The older I get, the more I dislike having to sloth through the mud to get to the meat n' potatoes. Like someone once said, a good book is like Bubble gum for the eyes.
