Friday Photos...

I have some photos to share from this week's visit to the farm (Joe's client).  Friday photos...

We had cattle when we entered the lane on Wednesday...

It was a gray, rainy day and the cattle were gathered under a tree.

Except for one that was lounging by the lane.  It got up and moved as we got closer.

My view from the patio.

Pistol & Doc.  I did not take carrots because I didn't think I could
make it down to the pastures.  Aronel took me down in the ATV
and I gave them a few alfalfa squares.

The owner has been doing some controlled burns on the property.
This field was burning as we left.

Here is some of the burned pasture.

And this pasture, where the cattle are, was burned a short three weeks ago.
It greens up nicely.

That's all I have this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

  3. These controlled burns irritate my nose but they are necessary. It was interesting to see how quickly the pasture recovered to be green again!

  5. We finally had sunshine yesterday and it was glorious. Back to the cloudy dreary weather today but I am off to mentor my MOPs ladies so it will be a fun day.

  7. Still some cattle right around us, but they are disappearing quickly for development. Kind of sad!

  8. It has definitely been a dreary February. We had sun yesterday and today but it is quite cool. I will take the sun at this point. Cows are quite fun to watch.

  9. Wow, Terri, I can't believe how quickly that pasture greened up after the control burn! Loved the photos, as always.
    Blessings!

  10. You need to find Dr. Pol on television - he is a vet for large animals - I think you would LOVE it. I do. I think I could 'almost' deliver a calf! lol

  11. Sounds like a lovely day. Love seeing the cows!! So glad you are able to go, and the golf cart makes it even nicer so you can see and feed the horses! Glad the rain has stopped for now, and we have sunny skies, even if it is kind of chilly! But we better enjoy this now. Summer will be here before we know it and it will be too hot! Oh well, still better than shoveling snow! Right? Have a blessed day.

  13. Like that old song, these photos seem to illustrate 'a peaceful, easy feeling.' Controlled or not, I find those burns a bit frightening. One of those nearly wiped out my hometown back in 2000 (Cerro Grande).

  14. That patio looks like a great place to relax. I'm guessing you're not feeling very mobile at the moment. Hope things improve. Yes it's amazing how quickly burned ground renews. We've seen it close to home when the common has caught fire.

  15. I love the pics of the cows under the trees. Looks so peaceful.
I saw Sandy's comment about Dr Pol. I have to see if I can find that show. He lives a little north of me and one of my relatives knows him. Says he's a great, down to earth guy.
