Late Weekend Recap...

After work on Thursday, Joe and I ran some errands to Sam's Club and to Publix for groceries.  Our neighbor, Sharon, had Achilles Tendon surgery on Wednesday. She will be laid up for weeks and can't put even an ounce of weight on her foot.  Her sugar (diabetes) went sky high from the surgery so she is off carbs for a few days until she gets it under control. I'm not telling tales. She is quite forthright about her health. The picture below is hers from Facebook.  Anyway, I wanted to take over a meal, but anything Italian (my usual offering) is out for this week. While at Sam's, we bought two rotisserie chickens, one for them and one for us.  I cut up a big salad to go with it. Sharon likes lots of goodies in her salad so I made one that was loaded. She and Bob appreciated it and made two meals from it.  Our neighbors here are such a blessing!

I don't work on Fridays. That's a blessing too!!  I had a morning of pampering and it was lovely!  I had my every-six-weeks facial by Dawn at 10:00 and I was at Noire for a pedicure by 11:30.  I haven't indulged in a pedicure for over 15 years.  It was heavenly.  I would pay to just sit in one of the massage chairs, for goodness sake.  Sorry to gush, but I've never had the privilege to sit in one of those before! Wow!  My toes look pretty good too!

I had to work on Saturday. Most of the day, Joe and I were glued to the computer monitor, watching the Southern Methodist University (SMU) graduations.  Grandson Tristan finished with a 3.7 GPA, earning two BS degrees, one with distinction. We are quite proud of him and his accomplishments.  If you saw these on FB, forgive me for posting them again.  His mom, Kathy, promises more when she gets them from their photographer friend who was with them.

Our son, Joey, (Tristan's dad) was there too.  We texted back and forth during some of it and he sent a couple of pictures that don't transfer well to the blog (too far away).  He had dinner with Tristan the night before and got to see granddaughter, Lauren, too.

We went to church Sunday morning and enjoyed talking to people after the service. We are getting to know some of the folks now and it feels really good.

Back to work today and then we were off to Tampa to see my orthopedic doctor for my cortisone shots (every three months).  I also did it. My first surgery is scheduled for August 27th and I'll get my other knee done November 21st.  I already have a two-hour class scheduled in July to learn about what to expect. Stay tuned.

So, it is done. Please keep me and my knees on your prayer lists!!

Thanks for your visit!! Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

  3. Woohoo for the knee surgeries! A year from now you will be unstoppable!!

I only ever had one pedicure and that was with Lisa and her bridesmaids before her wedding in 1998, haha! When I was putting nail polish on my toenails before my trip to Florida I had so many mishaps, one of which was spilled red nail polish on my bathroom floor, I decided it's time for me to get a pedicure and let someone else put my nail polish on for me, hahaha!

  4. I really like your nail polish. That's a very popular color here in Seattle, everyone seems to be wearing it! I will keep you (and your knees) in my prayers.

  5. You and your knees are on my prayer list. As usual, you had quite the busy weekend. Good for you for splurging on your pedicure, we all need to do those little things for ourselves once in a while.

  6. What a nice thing to do for your neighbors! I know they must have appreciated getting not one but two meals out of your kindness.

I've never had a pedicure but maybe someday...

That's a handsome grandson you've got. Congrats to him on his graduation.

  7. I will keep you in my prayers for the surgeries. You can do it! I have actually never had a pedicure. I just think I would like to soak them and then let someone rub them:) Congratulations to the grandson.

  10. Congratulations again to Tristan. So handsome!
Aw, you're such a faithful friend. Both to Sharon AND the rest of us, posting late to let us know what's happening. :)

I agree, those massage chairs feel heavenly. I don't indulge regularly, but like Sandy said, I'd rather someone just massage them.

  11. Way to go, Tristan! That's a huge accomplishment, and I know you all are so proud of him. Glad to know, too, that you finally scheduled your surgery, Terri. That's a great move! Oh, and the thing I miss most about going to the chiropractor? Her massage chairs! Yes, I'd love it if I could pay a small fee just to use one once a week.
    Blessings!

  13. You are certainly good neighbours. Congrats to your Grandson. I'm not familiar with your grading system but sounds like he did really well. I'm sure the prospect of two operations is scary but it's no fun being in constant pain and being limited. And I'm sure you'll be supported by all your lovely neighbours.
