Call Me
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Call Me (1966)
Unfamiliar with this week's song. Hear it here.
1) Chris Montez sings that you can always call him, regardless of the hour. Do you believe that it's ever too late to phone someone? I never call anyone after 9:00 pm. If it is something important, I would text first to see if a call is convenient. It is never too late for emergency calls but my heart does start racing when the phone rings after 10:00 pm.
2) He insists that you can depend on him, even when your friends desert you. Who is someone you can trust to have your back, no matter what? Joe, of course, and I believe most of my dear friends could also be relied on to 'have my back'.
3) Billy Crystal serenades Meg Ryan -- via answering machine -- with "Call Me" in When Harry Met Sally. Answering machines have been replaced by voice mail. Who most recently left you a voicemail? I can't really remember our last voicemail. Our friends and family text before calling.
4) Chris Montez is a graduate of El Camino College in Torrance, California. The average daytime temperature in November in Torrance is 70º. How is the weather where you are today? Here in Central Florida, it has been COLD for us but our temps will be back in the vicinity of 80° tomorrow. It was mid-70s today.
5) Today Chris actively promotes a healthy lifestyle to children. He was honored for his efforts by the group SOPA (Stop Obesity, Promote Activity). Do you believe you get enough exercise? LOL... No, I do not get enough exercise.
6) Released in late 1965, "Call Me" became a big hit in 1966, reaching #2 on the charts. Even though it sold millions of copies and was certified as a Gold Record, it never hit #1. Is winning, or being the best, important to you? Not at all. I am not very competitive and prefer to just have fun. If I win, that is fun. If I don't win, it is still fun.
7) In 1966, when this was playing on juke boxes, kids were watching Batman and Star Trek. If you had your choice of watching an episode right now, which would you choose: Star Trek or Batman? Not a fan of either, but I did watch Batman occasionally when it was on TV so I'll go with Batman.
8) Also in 1966, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was born. Do you enjoy cooking? Yes, I do enjoy cooking and the more the merrier!!
9) Random question -- You have the opportunity to perform in the circus! Would you rather be shot from a cannon, or put your head in the lion's mouth? It would have to be a very big cannon! LOL I'll trust the lion! Here kitty kitty!

I had to laugh at some of these questions! Happy Saturday dear friend.
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks pretty.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Good questions.... I do miss the human voice these days via phone. Most of my friends now insist on texting...but then Florida is a "fer piece." :)
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing out loud at your 'Here kitty, kitty'! I can't say I've ever enjoyed an episode of either Star Trek or Batman … not my thing, either.
ReplyDeleteHow DARE anyone mention exercise this time of year! (Color me, in denial.)
Have a great day, Terri!
I remember both Batman and Star Trek well, Terri. Think I'd find both shows rather campy today, but I'd have to choose Star Trek. And I do remember that song well.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend!
Hahahaha! You really do have a thing for cats!
ReplyDeleteGood answers. I liked Star Trek, and Batman, and Superman, and Spider Man, but Potato Man was the best.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Enjoyed all your answers, #9 made me laugh! Peace and hugs to you too!!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking good over there! I also never call after 9. Yes, you can depend on your dear Joe, and I bet a lot of others too!
ReplyDeleteI am trusting the lion too!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful! Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Oops! I meant to get over here earlier, but got distracted. How funny that we both actually said "here kitty, kitty!" It sounds like your job is busy but going well. I hope you are enjoying it. See you tomorrow for SS.
