Danny Boy
1) This is a sad song of farewell. Who is the last person you said "goodbye" or "so long" to? We said goodbye to our grandson knowing we may not see him for a year. That was last Sunday. Most recently we said goodbye to neighbors who popped in to say hello.
2) According to the 2000 Census, Massachusetts is the state with the largest percentage of residents of Irish descent. Have you ever been to The Bay State? No, I have not, but I would like to see Boston in the summer.
3) "The wearing o' the green" is one way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Will you wear something green in honor of the day? I always wear green on St. Patrick's Day.
4) What color makes you look best? I get compliments when I wear red, but green is good with my coloring too.
5) Will you drink something green in honor of the day (like a Shamrock shake or a green beer)? No, I don't think so.
6) A four-leaf clover is considered good luck. Do you have a lucky charm? No.
7) Though she's singing an Irish ballad, this week's featured artist, Joni James, is of Italian heritage. Can you think of a song as identified with Italy as "Danny Boy" is with Ireland? Of course!

8) Soda bread and potato bread are popular in Ireland. Are there any rolls or bread in your kitchen right now? My husband can't survive without bread. There is always bread, usually several kinds.
9) Ireland is known for its whiskey. Do you enjoy Irish coffee (black coffee, whiskey and whipped cream)? No, not especially.
Happy Saturday everyone! Thanks for coming by! Peace & hugs!

Ha! I thought of the same song. Actually, it is the only one I can think of.

ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day, Terri KELLY D...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you look GREAT in green!
You're sure right about wanting to visit Boston in the summertime! - especially this year. Yikes, they've been hammered with storms. And I hadn't thought of Dean Martin in a long time. Thanks for jogging my memory. Have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day, Terri.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy a wonderful day!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have had an espresso martini and enjoyed it very much!
ReplyDeleteSaying goodbye to people are ok with me, it hurts sure. But, I will see them again. It is when I say goodbye to someone I wont see again is a trial for me. Hoping, I WILL SEE THEM AGAIN. I always wear green on St Pattys day. I always thought I was Irish and thru dna found out I truly am. I love wine, but scotch is my choice to drink, does that make me Scottish. lol, lj
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patty's Day! I think your lucky charm is Joe. :)
ReplyDeleteI am working on a most lovely arrangement of O Danny Boy with my 11th grade male piano student. He "gets" the beauty of the chords and the flow. I so enjoy our time together each week.
