Friday Foto Friends...

It is Friday, but not just any Friday.  It has always seemed strange to me that we call the day our Lord was crucified "good" but it is explained pretty well HERE.  We wait in anticipation now for His glorious resurrection, celebrated on Easter Sunday. I always remember singing this during Easter week... (I do love Alan Jackson!)

This is also Friday Foto Friends day, linking up with Deb at Breathing in Grace.  You can join in HERE!

I went to the farm with Joe on Wednesday morning.  It was such a beautiful day!!

See the little calf!! Spring has sprung!!

My buddy, Doc, was happy to see me and I had apples to share!

He and Pistle competed for the treats!

Little chickens being incubated... also speaking Spring!

Buddy the horse is being boarded at the farm and this is "G" who is Buddy's person.
I got permission from G's mom to take photos and she said I could post them.

Mom was teaching G how to saddle Buddy. I learned a few things too!

G is quite the horsewoman! She walked, trotted and loved cantering best.
I was very impressed!

The sky was a glorious Florida blue!!

Yesterday we had a birthday celebration with our friend Helen.  She turned 90!!  She is healthy, spry, and has no dementia. She felt celebrated with specialty cupcakes from Crumb & Get It, balloons, banners and spaghetti and meatballs from her favorite Italian restaurant.

No, we did not eat them all! Could have, but didn't!

Joe gets his new hearing aids today!!  I am more excited than he is!  Those who have a spouse or significant other who can't hear will understand!

Thanks for your visit and thanks to those who are already praying for Joe and his coming procedure! We feel the love!  Peace & hugs!

  1. 90 and sharp... that is encouraging! Just last night a friend was telling me about her almost 90 year old father, also sharp as a tack. We hear so much bad news, it's good to hear the good.

I love that Buddy has a person. :-)

  3. What a delightful post. Thank you for starting out with The Good Friday story and The Old Rugged Cross (a favorite hymn). We have so much to be thankful for because of Jesus'sacrifice for us. So happy for your friend Helen...Happy 90th Birthday to her! Those cupcakes look delicious. How did you stop eating them? Love the horse pictures, and "G" learning to saddle and ride...such fun...what a blessed little girl. I always wanted my own horse when I was young like her...now I couldn't get on one if I tried! Love seeing the cows and blue skies too, although I'm hoping for some rain today! We sure need it. Gladd Joe will be able to hear you again soon!!! Ha ha! I hope the hearing aids work well for him. I know they are always a big adjustment at first. Have a blessed and glorious Easter!

  8. I love the old time hymns that we use to sing in church.. this one one of my favorites.. Good Joe is talking care of the hearing. A strong co-orelation (sp) between hearing - and cognitive loss and dementia. -Important we keep up with that.

    Those cupcakes!!!! YUM!!!
I always grew up never understanding why it was called GOOD the day Jesus was crucified too.

  12. What a great link ('Good' Friday) you've shared ... thanks, Terri! I could listen to Alan Jackson all day!

Boy, oh boy, do I understand the frustration trying to communicate w/ Tom's hearing loss. He just completed his Application for V.A. Health Benefits yesterday ... reapplying, actually. They turned us down a couple years ago saying our AGI was too much to qualify. Praying for both he and Joe!!!
