Spring is Here Hodgepodge...

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 345
Thanks to Joyce for this week’s Hodgepodge! She gives us the questions, we answer and then link up HERE!  Join the fun!

1. On this first official day of spring tell us something (besides the weather) you're looking forward to in this season of the year.  I hesitate to say it, but I am looking forward to Spring Training being over, so the snowbirds go home!  Traffic is crazy. The restaurants are crowded. There is no parking close to any place I want to go. Blah, blah, blah. God bless our snowbirds and their contribution to our economy, but spring is when they all go home!!  😊

2. When it comes to spring cleaning would you rather
wash windows or wash baseboards? Clean out closets or clean out the garage? Dust ceiling fans or dust bookcases? Wipe down the patio furniture outside or wipe down the light fixtures inside? Any of these tasks recently completed? No.

3. Your favorite thing to make/eat that calls for cream cheese?
That cream cheese pound cake I just made is pretty terrific.  Sour cream?  Baked potatoes or anything Mexican.  Whipped cream?  Strawberry shortcake.

4. I read here a list of commonly mispronounced words. What is a word that gives you trouble when it comes to pronunciation?
Looking at that list there are a couple… applicable and Gif.  They don’t give me trouble, I was just saying them wrong.  Also, Quinoa until I heard it on the Food Channel. Who knew?!!

5. What's a song you love with the word 'rain' in the title or lyrics?
Love? Gosh I really can’t think of any song that I LOVE, but I do really like this one…

6.  Insert your own random thought here.
We are having a great time with our company! I’ll have more photos for Friday’s post, but we did go by the Museum yesterday and saw a beautiful exhibit of Hudson River School paintings from the mid-1800s.

Thanks for your visit today!!  Elaine and Jim went home. 😒😞 Joey and Darlene arrive tomorrow! 😊😊 Peace & hugs!  🙏

  4. I understand the traffic and restaurant thing; I live in Tallahassee and when session is in, all the legislators do the same thing. Ugh!

  9. Continue to enjoy your company. :-) And so funny on the snowbirds. My parents were snowbirds to Florida back when. It's funny, but I don't know how people around here pronounce quinoa, but I lived in Bolivia for a year where it is raised and used, and they pronounced it with three syllables: KEE-nuh-wuh. So there you have it, at least from the Bolivians. LOL Your blog is SO pretty, Terri! I can see that I should do some redecorating!

  10. I forgot you probably do get a lot of company for spring break - do the kids behave? I am worried to let Andy go.
Wish I had someone to clean my house.
Sounds like you are keeping busy!

  16. Spring Training will be over soon enough and all the players, support personnel and the fans will return to from whence they came. Being in the frozen north we don't have a sense of how tedious the swarm of "Snow Geese" can be.
We have a motorcycle rally in NH every June where hundreds of thousands of people come from all over the world. It's only two weeks but it makes our little state very crowded.
God Bless You and have a great week.

  17. Since I live in Nh we look forward to the Spring and summer when all the Snow Geese return to us and spend their money helping our econnmy out for a bit. During the winter, we are too traped in our homes waiting for the winter to end. Of course there are those who love winter and ski all winter. I think they are nuts.

  18. My neighbors who are snowbirds are coming home tomorrow night. I cannot wait to see them. I had to giggle at your feelings of wanting the snowbirds to go home. I can imagine how congested traffic can get through the winter.
