It is always hard to have a great weekend end, but they always do, don't they. (Statement, not a question.)
Kathy and Tristan arrived from Naples by car at 12:15ish on Saturday. I had a salad bar prepared for our lunch so everyone could make their own salad, including fresh chicken breast I sliced to have ready. We also had a nice fruit salad with strawberries, grapes, pineapple and kiwi.
After catching up a bit and cleaning up from lunch, we went downtown so they could see the new exhibits at the Museum. We spent about an hour there. I posed them for this picture, but they really did enjoy the exhibits, in spite of how this photo looks! LOL
From there we drove over to the Lakeland Brewing Co., which is next door to the train station. Lauren was due to arrive at 4:20 from Boca Raton and we had a little more than an hour to kill. We ordered wine and two bowls of their amazing pretzels to munch on and the hour went by so fast! Moving the car took about three minutes. The train was running a few minutes late, but we enjoyed the time and were excited to see how Lauren liked the train ride. And here she is.....
The train ride was fine, she said. She was comfortable and there were outlets to charge electronics and also free WiFi for the ride. Lauren also said it was clean. She was sitting close to a Hispanic family who were speaking Spanish and she knows enough to understand what they were discussing, so that was kind of fun for her too....eavesdropping.
We all came back to the house to relax a bit. They all really like our new home.
Joe made reservations at Palace Restaurant for 6:30. It is our favorite Italian (and authentic) restaurant. The food was excellent and the house wine was perfect.
Back at the house, the kids chose The Hunt For Red October movie to watch. Everyone got comfortable and we all enjoyed the movie. Lauren and Tristan had not seen it before. The girls will kill me for posting this photo, but it shows that we were all comfy. Our living room is just that.
Sunday morning, getting up was a bit staggered so we ate breakfast as we wanted it and enjoyed our coffee with bagels, cereal, fruit salad and I cooked bacon for Tristan.
Kathy and Tristan hit the road around 11:00 to go back to Naples. The visit was too short, but we are so blessed to have had them for the time we did.
Lauren didn't have to be at the train station until 1:15 so we went over to Lakeside Village for a little shopping (she loves the store Versona) before we took her to catch her ride on Amtrak.
I got a hug too, and then she was gone....
Said good-bye to our sweet girl. We had such a good time!
Joe and I got home and I got the laundry started. We ate leftover pasta for our late lunch and then just picked for dinner. Chilled through the evening, and I am ready to tackle another week with the auditors. Gettin' it done!!
Thanks for checking in and I wish you a blessed week ahead! Peace & hugs.

Looks like a great time, smiles. Hope you have a lovely Monday, friend.
