I am SO thankful for all the wonderful things my co-workers have been doing for me this week and I do indeed have photos to share...tomorrow!
I mention now and then that I was blessed (and thankful) to have grown up in a very small mid-western town in central Ohio. One traffic light, corn and pig country and at one end of Buckeye Lake. We enjoyed boating in the summer and ice skating in the winter. I found a video done by a man and his drone of my home town in Ohio. You can also see the empty Sweet Corn Festival grounds in a couple of shots (empty booths waiting to be filled with delicious food). You will understand why I say I'm still a country girl at heart. The video opened up perfectly! I enjoyed it so much! I know it must have thrilled you to see it. The river with the boardwalk alongside is really neat.

I'm glad it opened for you. The 'river' is a canal...part of the Ohio-Erie Canal system that was dug back in the early 1800s through the early 1900s. My dad had his boat dock on the canal. We would ice skate the canal out to the lake and spend all day Saturday with friends on the ice.

DeleteWe are heading back to my hometown for the weekend and I am finding as I get older, I enjoy the peace of the country life. Not sure I will ever move there for good but it is a nice change.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous town! Reminds me so much of the areas my mom and her family were from (that I still go visit)...Cambridge Springs, Conneaut Lake, Pymatuming...all in PA.

What a beautiful little town. I love all the fields of corn.
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting. We have many more hills and mountains here in PA. I do drive through a very flat farm area on my way to Anthony and Lori's, and right now there are corn fields on both side of the road. That lake!! So beautiful! When I was a teen we lived right near a dam that provided great ice skating in the winter. Every day after school in the cold winter we would head down there to skate.
