Weekend Recap on Monday....
Oh, my goodness!! The weekend came and went and I worked my hind-end off. I haven't read any blogs and I didn't get a post done on Sunday. My apologies.
BUT....it was a good weekend. We spent Saturday morning running errands. Picked up dry cleaning for Joe, we put gas in my car ($2.13 a gallon!!), we went furniture shopping at Badcock and found the shelves we have been looking for. They will be delivered next Monday. It's the last piece needed to get the rest of the boxes emptied. Artwork and 'pretties' can finally come out.
Then we went to Sam's Club before heading home. Some of the curtains have arrived and I spent Saturday afternoon ironing and preparing to hang them. The guest room is done, the guest bathroom is done and finally, the living room is done. The living room/dining room required taking down valences and filling screw holes, then painting and waiting for it all to dry. We are very pleased and it finally feels more like us. The very pretty French Country look that was there just did not go with us.
I am still waiting on the kitchen curtains and we need hardware for our bedroom and the den. Getting there. I emptied another box and organized our linen closet. I got the laundry done. We attended a homeowners association meeting Sunday afternoon. Whew. Yes, I'm tired. This old lady can't wait to be done with the "moving in" so weekends can be fun again!
Oh, I roasted a small turkey in the crock pot yesterday. It fell off the bones and was SO good. I never think about turkey, except at Thanksgiving time. I saw them at Publix and decided it sounded good. I also prepared fresh green beans. Delicious! It will also be dinner tonight (and maybe tomorrow night).
This week will be a little crazy. It's time for my colonoscopy (sorry if that's TMI) and it is scheduled for Friday. I have Thursday and Friday off from work. Those of you who have been through one know that the day before is the worst. I get one every five years because of family history. I'm about six months past due. Can't put it off any longer.
I promise pictures of the house when I get things put together. I'm just not ready for a photo tour yet.
Thanks for your visit!! Wishing a week full of blessings for all! Peace & hugs.

Whew, just tired reading this, giggling. Don't remind me about the colonscopy, since I will be the big 5-0 this week, someone has informed me that the old body has to go in for a major overhaul, grr....
ReplyDeleteANYWAYS, Have a beautiful day friend...thank you for the smiles.
P.S. Hopefully, you will show photos of the new curtains, smiles
You have been super busy. Can't wait to see the pics.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Progress! I'm ready to be back to a normal routine too, but I have months to go!
ReplyDeleteWhew, I am tired just reading your blog. Moving is really a time consuming thing. But you will feel so much better when you get your nest feathered!! Post some pictures for us.
ReplyDeleteYou have been so busy the past few months...it certainly is time to be done and get back to those fun week-ends!!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, but the two of you sound not unlike the Energizer Bunny!
ReplyDeleteI, too, am (over)due for my 7-year "C" exam but in denial. That awful 'prep' liquid would not stay down! (Sorry, now I'm being TMI.)
You are the second friend I know who is scheduled for a colonoscopy this Friday. (hmm) I'm praying it goes well for both of you.
ReplyDeleteYou are a little Energizer Bunny! All of your hard work is paying off!
That sounds like a very busy weekend! I can't believe you got so much done! You are amazing! I don't envy you having the colonoscopy Friday. I am supposed to have one every 5 years also, so I think I have two years to go. No fun! I have my mammogram tomorrow. That's not much fun either, but still not as bad as the c. I'll say a prayer for you!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that colonoscopy! I have had one, and it wasn't bad, I think the prep is worse!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have been busy. I can't wait to see photos.
I made a small turkey in my crockpot last week and it also fell off the bones and was so good!
I cooked a turkey breast recently and it was so good. My daughter and her boyfriend came for dinner and it made a nice meal. I understand the crazy. Hope your test goes well on Friday. Thursday will definitely be the less pleasant of the two days. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new home. You sound like you're on top of things there!
