Wordy Wednesday.....
Wordy Wednesday....that's a play on Mari's "Wordless Wednesday" posts! I can't just post a photo without writing about it!
I've mentioned that our cats are doing so well in the new house. They really are!! Joe and I both believe their bad behavior had more to do with outside stimulation because we let them go out around the pool at the old house. There were other cats, squirrels, neighborhood dogs... Here in our new home, they are completely inside cats and they are slowly becoming friends!! Never, ever, have they all three been on the bed at the same time, Never. Joe said they were there most of the day....
We are thrilled at the changes!! No more marking things. No more hissing and spitting. Wow.
Thanks to everyone for your curtain ideas and links for places I hadn't tried. I think I have all the windows covered now....just waiting for them to arrive. Not sure I have enough hardware, but that is easy to fix at Walmart. I also got two new area carpets (5 x 7) ordered. They should arrive tomorrow. Slowly getting there!
I moved out of my office at work. I've been in there 20 years this week. We have a new Director of Development coming the first week of April and she will be getting an office that three employees have been sharing. Two of those from the education department are moving into my "old" office. I volunteered to vacate so everyone could get settled. I think it surprised everyone when I said I would move. I've only got four more months to go. I can deal with a different space - no longer private and much smaller - for four months. It feels very, very strange. I'm happy that Ellen and Salina will be occupying my old office. It will be good for everyone. Time moves on, and so do old ladies!! LOL
Our new community here at Mas Verde is like a small town. We are meeting our neighbors and got the word that our next-door neighbors, Bob and Sharon, are at the hospital because Bob had to have emergency surgery last night for a hernia and bowel obstruction. Paul and Ann, from across the street, are taking care of their dachshund, Angel. It's actually nice to know people care and that they are helpful when needed. We look forward to joining the ranks (so to speak). I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone (and everyone's business) so this feels like home to me already!
That's all for my Wordy Wednesday! Joyce will be back next week with another Hodgepodge! She is enjoying a visit from Daughter1 and son-in-law this week. She will be a first-time grandma in about four months, and we now know it's a boy!! Congratulations to Joyce and family!!
Thanks for your visit!! Peace & hugs.

I'm so glad to hear that the cats have made peace with one another! And although an office after all that time would be hard to leave, you're right - only four more months. It will go by quickly. It's sounds like you and Joe will fit in nicely with your new neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteSounds like everything is falling into place for you Terri!! So glad!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that your cats are doing well in their new home. Yay on only 4 more months to go.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I love being able to keep up with the move and 'settling' in. I am so happy for you, that the community seems to be just what you like and wanted. You can handle any size office for 4 months, right? lol
ReplyDeleteI have really been enjoying your posts, Terri...giggling over the kitties. I cant believe retirement is just 4 months away, wow...smiles
ReplyDeletep.s. 24 inches of snow we got!!!
When you can see retirement "right around the corner", work changes do not matter much at all !!! So happy for you that it is this close.
ReplyDeleteWe are in Bill's second week of part-time retirement and feel like it's a vacation/honeymoon. Of course we don't have the grandsons this week due to spring break - - but it's still great even when we babysit - - an added bonus but less energy. LOL
REALLY glad to hear about the cats. We still have a couple who need their heads banged together. LOL
Ah - thats so kind of you to let them have your office early. You have to be excited - 4 months will be here so soon!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad the kitties are settling down and settling in. Change is stressful for them, too.
ReplyDeleteSeems you're settling in just fine!! That is really great about the cats..I would have thought just the opposite. Moving into an unfamiliar place would make then agitated. Well, it's great it's all working out so good for you.
ReplyDeleteI loved your bedspread! Retirement was a shock to me, got two weeks to get ready, so you are lucky it was in the works. A better adjustment no doubt. But it is a big change no matter how much it is wanted.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that your kitties are adapting so well in your new home...and so are you and Joe! It sounds so delightful! I told my hubby about your move and I think he was a little envious. He'd like to live in such a community, but I am not ready to do that. I like my woods and privacy too much for that. But we are trying to get better acquainted with our few neighbors. After living here 5 years it's about time. But I was working most of those years. Can't wait to see your finished rooms with the new curtains, etc. Such fun for you!!!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your Wordy Wednesday title!
ReplyDeleteGlad the kitties are doing so well.
You are so generous to give up your office. It says a lot about you, and doesn't surprise me a bit.
So glad your fur babies are adapting better than you and Joe could have imagined!
ReplyDeleteIronic about your office 'move.' (Nice gesture, Terri!) Come Summer, they're expanding our guest services lobby, so I'll be downsizing and moving to a 4-person word-space/cube with a shelf and a two-drawer file cabinet.
Great news about your kitties. I know you're counting down the days till retirement. Four months will fly by.
ReplyDeleteI am always glad to read about good pet news. So pleased your kitties are a peace with their new surroundings and circumstances.
ReplyDeleteI tend to hiss and scratch, too, when I feel threatened. (smile)
