Alone Again, Naturally
Saturday 9: Along Again, Naturally (1971)
Not familiar with this week's song? Hear it here.
1. Friday was St. Patrick's Day, March 17th! Did you celebrate with green beer or a green milkshake? Nope. I'm not a beer drinker (any color) and would only order a chocolate shake.
2. Did you remember to wear green? Indeed! My maiden name is Kelly!! It would be a sacrilege if I didn't wear green - and I also don't like getting pinched!!
3. What color do you look best in? Green! LOL
4. This week's featured artist, Gilbert O'Sullivan, was born in Waterford, Ireland. Waterford is famous for Waterford Crystal. Do you have glassware that you save for special occasions? Not anymore. I packed up my Lenox crystal glasses for our granddaughter, Lauren.
5. This week's featured song includes the line, "To think that only yesterday I was cheerful, bright and gay." How were you feeling yesterday? I was feeling cheerful, bright and gay because it was Friday and also St. Patty's Day!
6. It begins with reference to a wedding that didn't quite come off because the bride left the groom at the altar. When were you most recently at church? Last Saturday evening. Was it for a holiday service, a regularly scheduled service, a special event (a wedding or baptism)? We are usually going to the 4:00 Vigil Mass on Saturdays now, so it was a regularly scheduled service.
7. In 1971, when this song was popular, Malibu Barbie was a big seller for Mattel. This doll had a perpetual tan. For a human to achieve this, a tanning bed or self-tanner is usually required. Have you used either method to give yourself a tan? I don't tan, I just burn so I don't even try anymore. I've thought about a spray on tan, but can't afford the really good ones that don't look orange.
8. In March 1971, James Taylor appeared on the cover of TIME magazine. What's your favorite James Taylor song? Well, I happen to really, really like James Taylor and can sing along to most of his songs. How about Handy Man....
9. Random Question: What word or phrase do you hear yourself saying too often? I really have no idea and I asked Joe - he had nothing.
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!
Happy Saturday!! Thanks for peeking in today! Peace & hugs!!

I enjoyed the meme, mine will be up in a few minutes, smiles. Have a lovely day friend.
ReplyDeleteThe more I visit and read about you, the more I find we have in common. This week it's the Irish thing. My maiden name is Andrews.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this meme and added it to my blog too. Thanks for sharing! My blogger will link to my actual blog. Hope you can visit.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a beer drinker either ... but used to be hooked on McDonald's shamrock shakes. (Remember?) I don't wear it well, but green's is such a fun color! My mom used to drizzle Crème de Menthe over vanilla ice cream on St. Paddy's Day and I thought it the most elegant thing ever. lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good St Paddy's Day Terri. I forgot to wear green but I did not get pinched.lol I do have some Irish blood in me...northern Ireland.
ReplyDeleteHey, just stopping by to catch up with you :) I enjoyed your answers. Glad you had a nice St. Paddy's Day. Ed and I didn't do anything special, other than our usual Friday shopping trip, and having family over for supper. By the way, I'm a fan of James Taylor, too :)

That was fun! It was also fun remembering that old song. It was a hit when I was in junior high and had a job picking blueberries in the summer. I remember hearing that song being played out in the field!
ReplyDeleteI wore my green yesterday, too. And just yesterday I heard James Taylor singing How Sweet It Is to be loved by you. Great song!
