Thankful Thursday....

Thankful Thursday rolls right into our 25th day of the August Happiness challenge!!  I am thankful for my girlfriends, and I get to have lunch with a couple of them tomorrow and supper with Helen & Cheryl (and Joe) tomorrow evening!  Can you see my smile?

On a political note, I just wanted to share this article written by a Pastor. I've not heard of him before, but my cousin, Becky, posted it on Facebook earlier this week.  I have read through it a couple of times.  For the most part, he thinks the same things I think about our two choices for President in the coming election.  In the primary, I voted for Rubio but (as you know) I have gotten behind Trump. I always stand with the Republican platform of smaller government and more power to the states and to individuals.  The link is below.  If you are still "on the fence" he brings up some good points.  I'm thankful that we live in a country that still allows us to voice our opinions and not be jailed for them!  I know we are all getting weary of being bombarded so this allows you to look if you are interested.

Thanks for your visit today!!  Wishing you a blessed Friday Eve!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Time spent with girlfriends is priceless. Enjoy tomorrow. I agree with you on the candidate for President. I couldnt vote the opposite for many many reasons. Good article. Thanks for sharing and have a good Thursday.

  2. Terri, even a less than exciting choice is a choice many do not have. Like you I am glad we can vote and it is our responsibility to do so. I have heard so many people say they are not going to vote. That makes me shudder. Have fun with your girlfriends...I will be with mine as well.

  3. Oh I have heard so many folks say their not voting or it's already over because pant suit has the electoral college all sewed up...sigh...

  4. I'm doing the luncheon thing today. Those are always fun.
Thanks for the link. I'll be sure to read it. Only a very wicked, depraved, low-information person could vote for a Clinton or any democrat. My original candidate was/is Dr. Rand Paul. But I think Trump will be a good choice too. He did chose a Libertarian Republican, Mike Pence, to be his running mate. That speaks volumes.
Hope your day is blessed. ~:)

    1. LOL - I sometimes say I am a Republican with Libertarian leanings! We just need to get the Federal government sliced and diced to something more in line with what our Patriot forefathers intended when they designed our constitution.

  8. That article is excellent! I want to share it on FB, too. I totally like how he states both their "sins" but makes the differentiation about the easier ones to deal with.

    1. I agree Lynda. He doesn't sugar coat it at all, but does make very valid points. Thanks for helping get the message out!

  10. Right or wrong, I've always been a steadfast supporter of "The Donald." Sure, he's brash; but when did we, as a Nation, shrink away from offending anyone. My knowledge of history is shaky, indeed, but I don't think folk like Patton and Churchill won any points by being 'politically correct.'

This seems like a fascinating link ... it's been a rough day, so I hope you won't mind me taking a rain check to come back to it this weekend.

  11. Oh I love my friends, too and isn't life the sweeter for them? I like the graphic with the quote. It's so true. Now, about that article ... It is disheartening to think that enough people voted these two in as candidates for the highest office. But for me, there is no choice, but to stick with the Republican Party for the reasons you stated. I'm so disappointed that people are saying they won't vote. That was an excellent article.
