Sunday Stealing.....

Shannon's Moments Meme, Part One

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes (or surveys) from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard the expression, “honor among thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. When possible, we contact the owner of the blog where we stole the post. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.

We Found this gem when a few weeks ago we asked for memes to steal. Shannon W (my friend and the author of Moments of Introspection) gave us this one but did not tell me where she got it. It's long so we broke it up in two parts. As it says above, we edit and change questions. Mostly I hate yes or no questions. That also allows the person I stole it from to play. That's not a goal but it is reality. If you think hosting a meme is easy, try it once. Okay, now time for me to shout:

Cheer to all of us thieves!!

Sunday Stealing: Shannon's Moments Meme, Part One

1. Do you like blue cheese?  Yes.

2. Have you ever smoked cigarettes?  Yes.  If yes, how did you quit?  Cold turkey.

3. Do you own a gun?  Yes.  How are your feelings about gun control/2nd amendment rights?  I believe in our right to own weapons and be armed. I have a concealed carry permit and so does Joe.  I think it would be fine if all law-abiding citizens were armed and knowledgeable in how to properly handle a weapon. There would be less violent crime if criminals knew someone was most likely armed. I grew up with guns in the house. I have a healthy respect for them.

4. What is your favorite flavor of water or liquor flavors?  I like Spring Water and don't have a favorite liquor flavor.

5. Do you get nervous before a doctor visit?  No. Why?  I like and respect my doctors. Blessed.

6. How do you like your hot dogs?  With mustard and relish.

7. Although it’s been asked a lot, tell us about a favorite movie that you haven’t shared before.  I can't think of any.

8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning?  Coffee.

9. In a dating situation, have you ever misrepresented yourself to seem cooler or hipper? (Yes we know for most of you it was long ago…)  Nope.  Doing that only gets you in trouble...and it has been a very, very long time since I was dating.

10. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry?  My wedding ring.  Why?  It matches Joe's, rarely comes off my finger and represents our love and commitment to each other.

11. Favorite hobby?  These days, blogging seems like a hobby. Tell us about it so we understand it.  If you are here, reading this, I think you understand.  It consumes a lot of time!!

12. Do you have A.D.D., or have you suspected it?  No to both questions.

13. What’s a thing you dislike or would change about yourself?  It would be nice to be a more average height (I'm nearly 6' tall) and weight (too heavy) and I would love to have a smaller foot (size 12).  Shopping for clothes and shoes is not fun for me.

14. Middle name?  Lee.  Like it or not?  It's okay. I rarely use it, choosing L. instead.  It was my great-grandmother's middle name - Verda Lee.  Better Lee than Verda, I think! :)

15. Name three random thoughts you might have on this week:  I'm cleaning out files at work and have been wearing jeans and a t-shirt to work;  why am I putting off cleaning things out at home?; waiting to hear when granddaughter Lauren is coming for a visit.

16. Name 3 drinks you regularly drink.  Water, coffee, orange juice.  Tell us a bit about them.  I try to drink 40-60 ounces of water a day. I drink one or two cups of coffee each day and I have orange juice every morning. What more is there to say?

17. Current worry:  I don't worry anymore. Truly, I don't worry about things anymore. I choose to give it to God. My worrying changes nothing.

18. Current annoyance:  One of our cats is peeing where he shouldn't and I don't know what else to try, to get him to stop. Never had that problem before. Any help from any of you?  Yes, he is neutered, loved and he is not sick.  It started when we lost Onyx a year ago, who was the master of the house.

19. Favorite place to be in the summer?  Wherever it is air conditioned, here in Florida.  Give us a wee bit more than “the beach”.

20. How do you usually ring in the new year?   At home. If forced (how we’d do that without Judd coming to your house if you even know who he was) to do something new, what would it be?  We have had little parties at home a few times over the years. I would do that, but have no desire to be out in the crowds or on the roads with drunks.

21. What have you done this summer that’s special? Pictures please.  I've posted photos and blogged about our niece's wedding and our beach vacations, both at Folly Beach, SC and at St. Pete Beach.

22. Have you ever walked into a room with just shoes on?  I don't remember. Probably not is my guess because if I'm naked, I most likely don't have my shoes on.
Thank you for playing this week on Sunday Stealing! Please leave a comment or link when you have posted. Stop back and visit other player’s posts. That is really what this is all about, making new friends! Have a great week. See you next Sunday!

Thanks for your visit!! Thanks to Bud and Shannon for posting the questions for today!!

Peace & hugs.

    1. The Sunday Stealing questions are many times awkward (putting in nicely) and you may have noticed that some Sundays I just opt out.

  7. Congratulations on quitting (cigarettes) cold turkey! I smoked for the better part of 40 years. Only when hubby was diagnosed with Stage III lung cancer did I feel compelled to quit ....and was only able to do so with much prayer and Chantix. That, and I tried to make a deal with God (preposterous, eh?) -- if He allowed my hubby to live, I'd stop.
Unfortunately, 3 years later there are days I think nothing could make me feel better than having "just one."

Absolutely ditto every word your wrote to #3.

    1. I only smoked for two years, but was smoking a pack and a half a day back then. I was just divorced and my new girlfriends all smoked....I quit in 1983. Back then, a carton of Virginia Slim menthols only cost $10.00!! Can't imagine paying today's prices.

  8. Funny questions but good answers from you. I wish I could have my coffee again, but now it is spiced tea in the mornings. My middle name is Stayton, which was my grandmother's maiden name. It is also my daughter's middle name, and one of my granddaughter's first name, so yes I like it. I wish I had an answer about your cat peeing in odd places...havent faced that one yet. We stay home on New Year's Eve too..no way do I want to be out, especially on the road. And last but not least, I do own and know how to shoot a gun.

  9. You're from Florida and you don't drink Iced Tea??? Most everyone drinks sweet tea, but me...I like mine unsweet...and I don't drink coffee...I drink hot tea for breakfast...and a lot of water too. This was interesting and I learned a lot about you! Such fun! You sound like someone I would enjoy meeting! Maybe someday...from..."your friend from Florida too!"

  10. Oh, I like your answers! You know I'm very strong 2nd Amendment. It protects all the other Amendments that why those that hate freedom hate the Amendment. *wink*
I'm glad I only smoked a little as a late teen and only out of rebellion. It must be very hard to give up. I'm mostly a 70% dark chocolate addict. If I ever had to give that up I'd be in a pickle.
As for the cat peeing in the wrong spot, have you tried spraying the area with something that would be unpleasant to a cat? That's the only thing I could think of. I pray that behavior can be corrected soon.
Hope your day was blessed! Enjoy the grandchild(ren) visit! ~:)

  11. Those were some pretty interesting (and personal!!) questions. I appreciate your answers for #3, regarding guns. We are in agreement for sure on that one!!

  12. I agree with you on gun control. Good for you for quitting smoking. I never started, but I know it's so hard to stop.
I'm 5'5" so that's ok, but I'm forever trying to lose weight, and working on that again now!
I like your middle name. I have a sister named Terri. Her middle name is Lynne.
