Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 276
1. Are you watching the Olympics? Not really. Your favorite summer Olympic event? Women's gymnastics. Waiting on them. I read recently a list of the most iconic Olympic moments in history...what stands out in your mind as a great moment from some past summer Olympic games? Mary Lou Retton's Gold, from way back in 1984. She was a little ball of energy with a huge smile and a whole bunch of talent.
2. Have you ever been to Rio? Nope. How about the place that started it all-Greece? Nope. Have you ever been to any of the Olympic Games in person? Nope. Is that something you'd like to do? Nope. Have you ever met an Olympian in person? Nope.
3. The ball's in their court (tennis), cross the finish line (track and field), on target (archery), make a splash (diving), on a roll (gymnastics), out of one's depth (swimming)...which Olympic-related idiom best applies to your life right now? Explain. How about "on target to cross the finish line"? I'm setting myself on cruise control through to retirement next spring/summer. There's that word again!! LOL
4. What have you earned a 'gold medal' in recently? The audit went well and I consider it my annual evaluation, so I'll take a Gold this year.
5. What is it (or who is it) that motivates you to eat right, exercise, and do what you can to be healthy? It has to be self motivated for me, and I'm not in a good place for that right now. Bah humbug on diets. But I know I need to have more discipline!
6. Are you young at heart or an old soul? I'm an old soul with a young heart. Explain. Years (and years and years) ago, I had my numerology chart done and was told I am an old soul. I do sometimes feel like I've been around the block more than a few times and know things that I wonder about knowing....
7. It's National S'mores Day (August 10th)...are you a fan? Not really. Will you celebrate with a s'more today? Burnt marshmallows don't do it for me, but I can make a chocolate sandwich with a Hershey bar and graham crackers!!
8. Insert your own random thought here. 10th August Happiness Challenge Day....

Thanks for popping in today! Peace & hugs.

Great answers. I'm watching the Olympics sporadically....I HAVE to watch Michael Phelps win his GOLD!!! I'm sure you do feel like you won a gold medal after getting through the audit...those things are time consuming and not a lot of fun. HOPE you have a wonderful Wednesday...hump day!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your answers, Terri...and hurray for the cortisone shots and soon retirement, smiles.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day friend.
I have never been a big summer Olympics fan...I prefer winter. Being a southern girl I think I like the snow. So glad your audit went well. That is a gold for sure.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope that gives you some relief from the pain in your knees, Terri. And retirement is less than a year away. Yippee! :-))
ReplyDeleteI only watch gymnastics. I prefer the winter olympics.
ReplyDeleteGlad your knees are feeling better,
Have a great day!
Yay! Yay! Big win on the knees and your gold medals. I definitely remember Mary Lou! Enjoy your weekend with Tristan.
ReplyDeleteHips and knees, o'my! Glad the steroid helped for one anyway. I am not into the Olympics either. Hope your have a happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteAll references to Peanuts are good. Very good.
ReplyDeleteI loved watching Mary Lou Retton...what a little ball of energy! Glad your knee seems to be feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI've never really watched any Olympics but I do remember Mary Lou Retton. She was such a cute little thing with her big happy smile. I think she actually was in a couple of movies, if I'm not mistaken. The only sport I can for ... wait for it ... is MotoGP, Moto 2, Moto 3, American SuperBike, RallyCross ... Ok, yeah, motorcycles and fast cars. Guilty! *giggle*
ReplyDeleteDieting and I are not speaking to one another. I have a definite pout going on and my waistline is suffering for it. Guess I need to work on that.
Hope your day is blessed. ~:)
That's so interesting, what you wrote: "I do sometimes feel like I've been around the block more than a few times and know things that I wonder about knowing...."
ReplyDeleteWish intuition came more easily to me, but that's not something one can force.
Glad to hear your knees are better. Come'on already, hip! :)
The countdown to retirement-whoohoo! I'm glad your knee is feelling better. I think a lot of times the hip out of whack makes the knee ache. Peanuts is always a good idea : )
ReplyDeleteI am determined to get serious about this whole diet and exercise thing. I have two good friends who practice an intermittent fasting lifestyle and they are always bugging me to try it. One is 65 with the energy of someone much younger and the other is a dynamo, too, but has lost over 100 pounds! I got the book...I'm going to make myself read it and see what I think.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the audit going well. Ugh...my left hip is acting up. Sorry about your knees and hip. Glad you can get relief. Have a happy Thursday since Wednesday is winding down.
ReplyDeleteA chocolate sandwich, huh? I'd love that! I'm glad you were able to get some relief for your knees, and congrats on the audit going well :)
ReplyDeleteKathy (Reflections)
I just popped a Tylenol myself (headache here). Let's hope it does the trick for us both!
ReplyDeleteI recently retired, it is just as great as I thought it would be.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Well I hope you got to watch your women gymnasts, they were amazing! Enjoyed your post. Hope the knees are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteNice job on the Hodgepodge this week. Another Olympic Moment was Kerri Strug's final vault on her injured ankle during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, GA, winning the Gold Medal. Thankfully our water problem has been corrected. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteWhat!!!????!!! Who doesn't love burnt marshmallows? Man, one of my faves. But I do LOVE Snoopy, and I love your Peanuts moment.
