- Thanks for the prayers! My grandma is "stable" right now. Not sure how long she has, but we know she will be in the hospital a few more nights before being released to a nursing home for some rehab. I doubt she will ever be able to stay at her house alone again, but she might surprise us! We will see her at the end of May when we head up to Ohio for my niece's wedding.
- Joe got a new medicine today, to replace another. His doctor says to give this one two weeks to work and another EKG at that time will tell what the next step will be. He feels okay, but just gets tired real fast.
- Work was brutal yesterday, getting caught up after being off last week. Whew!!
- After work, Joe and I went out to eat at Mellow Mushroom. It's a new pizza place that opened a few weeks ago. We refuse to stand in line for a restaurant, so have been waiting for the crowds to die down. I can only say that the pizza was just okay - we've certainly had better. The "tossed salad" was bag salad with a few slices of mushroom and two tiny slices of tomato. The service was intrusive...she was in our face constantly. Just a bad experience and we won't go again.
- After eating, we had to run to Sam's Club and then to Publix. We were both done-in by the time we got home shortly after 8:00. Joe was so tired, he sat in the Publix cafe while I checked out.
That's all I have today! Since Joyce is taking tomorrow off, from the Hodgepodge, I think I will also take the day off from posting.
I appreciate your visit! Peace & hugs.

Hmmm on Mellow Mushroom--that is not at all like that what I remembered--I would def. call the head office.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to read that about your Grandma, as for Joe, Terri, keep an eye on him. Being a stroke patient and all, my hubby gets like that, yesterday, he had a hard time, sad to say...just very stressful. Yes, they/dr.'s will try diff. meds etc.
Keeping you in prayer, Terri.
sending you love, hugs, and prayers
ReplyDeleteWe have Mellow Mushroom here in NC too. I enjoyed my first visit there, but the two other times I've been. I was grossed out. Not a place I will be going back to anytime soon. Good news on your grandma.
ReplyDeleteTerri, Marvin and I actually ate at the first Mellow Mushroom that was located in Atlanta, not far from Ga Tech. It was a walk up place. You ordered your pizza and sat on a picnic table to eat it. No salads, just pizza. We have one here in Decatur and it is very good. And always busy!! I think franchises are only as good as the manager who runs them. Hope you get caught up at work...I can only imagine working and trying to take care of an ailing husband and my house and My Blog! Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Mellow Mushroom. Wouldn't know from the name that's it is a pizza place. lol
ReplyDeleteHope Joe's new meds work for him.
Have a great day!
That's always disappointing when you finally get to try a place & its not as good as you hoped.
ReplyDeleteI hate catching up at work.. I always say its not worth taking off sometimes.
Lady, you need a break just to get some rest....I get tired just reading all about your escapades! ;-) I've never eaten at Mellow Mushroom, as my hubby doesn't/won't eat pizza...a shame, I know! I don't blame you for not going back, though. Happy Tuesday to you.
ReplyDeleteThat's good news about your grandmas and you just never know - she might surprise you all. We don't have a Mellow Mushroom here, but I know the bag salads are disappointing.
ReplyDeleteSounds as though you could use a break. Take care of yourself and Joe too. SAMs and the grocery store on the same day are pretty tiring.
How disappointing, your Mellow Mushroom experience! I meant to comment some days (weeks?) back about your lunch at Cheddars. It's been since the mid-80's, but my experiences there (Dallas) still make my memory salivate!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on your step-g'ma. I got such a kick out of seeing Joe's reflection as he was taking your picture. :)
Praying the new med is helpful for Joe!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer about that restaurant. I hate when you look forward to something and it's such a letdown.
Glad to hear your Grandma is doing alright.
I just got caught up with your last few posts. I hope your week is calmer and you have a chance to catch up after all the fun. I pray the new med will work well for Joe and he will be able to gain more energy.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your Grandma is stable!
ReplyDeleteWe have a couple Mellow Mushrooms around here near the universities. I think of it as a college hangout kind of place, but I have not been to one.
Glad to hear Grandma is ok but any major changes at 97 won't be easy. Hope the new medication is better for Joe and that you get on top of things at work so that you aren't getting stressed out. You always seem so busy. Much as I love the Hodgepodge it is a relief not to have to think about it so I can get caught up on the A-Z challenge.
