Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 259
Happy St. Patrick's Day from Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond. She gives us the fun questions and we provide our answers, link up with other Hodgepodgers and enjoy meeting new friends! Join in by visiting Joyce HERE!
1. What do you think about luck? I think everyone else is lucky. I rarely win anything. I have, however, been lucky in love!! :)
2. Not counting your own backyard, what's a favorite green space in your town, city, or state? Lakeland has many beautiful green spaces. One of my favorites is the park around Lake Morton. Another is our central park, Munn Park, and then there is the Hollis Gardens at Lake Mirror.....
3. How do you make your life more complex than it needs to be? Well, I don't think my life is very complex at all. I live a simple life and do my best to keep it that way.
4. I read here the three places you should visit with friends. They are-New York City, Hawaii, and Amsterdam (rent a bike, walk along the canal, visit one of their world class museums). I felt the need to expound on that one. Moving on...Of the three places listed which would you most like to visit with friends? I've been to NYC, have never had a desire to see Hawaii or Amsterdam. I would go back to Italy in a minute. What's one place not on the list you think should be visited with friends? Italy.
5. What's the last live performance you saw? Artist Russell Young gave a talk on his artwork which was more of a performance than a talk so that's my answer. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being best) how would you rate it? He was pretty amazing, so I'll give him a #9 on that scale.
6. March 14th is National Potato Chip Day. Are you a fan? Yes, unfortunately I love chips and get cravings for them. Your favorite flavor? PLAIN! Besides potato, what's your favorite chip type of snack? I like Fritoes and Corn Chips. Salt is the thing.
7.What rule is most important in your home? Pick up after yourself and if you see something that needs to be done, do it.
8. Insert your own random thought here. Update on Joe. He flipped back into AFib on Sunday so we spent yesterday (I took off work) visiting doctors (3 appointments and an EKG). We said no to another cardioversion. It only lasted nine days and cost us a big co-pay. So, he has a new medicine and sees the doctor again Thursday morning, to see if the med is working. Please say a prayer and cross your fingers too.
Looking forward to our friends arriving this afternoon! I am off work at noon through Friday!! Yippee. Happy that Joe feels good, his BP is fine and his heart isn't racing....it's just out of whack again. Hoping by Thursday he is back in normal rhythm. It's the same medicine I've been taking for AFib, for 10 years and it works for me.
Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs.
Ms. Terri, I know all patients are different, but my Mom also has A-Fib. She cannot take beta blockers, or staten (sp???) drugs, so when she was at her worse, I did some research and found that Magnesium Oxide is helpful for A-fib. I talked with her cardiologist and he put her on that, and it does help. (I take it because I have some racing episodes with my heart, too, and needed something to take because at the time I had NO insurance). It might be something to research and ask his doctor about. Just a thought. HOPE you have a wonderful rest of the week with your friends. Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb!! I always appreciate hearing about things that have helped in similar situations! Joe is taking a magnesium supplement because they found his magnesium was very low. Must be something to it!!
DeleteFriends arriving, off from work, husband doing fine, all is good in your neck of the woods. Enjoy it all!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Hawaii. Hopefully Joe's new meds work for him. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI was reading Deb's comment---Liam (my son) suffers from a high heart rate/racing heart rate and the doctors put him on Atenyol (sp?)--scary thought...keeping you both in prayer, Terri.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your HP.
Well I'd much rather be lucky in love (which I have been) and poor than win the lottery and be on my own.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Joe. I hope the medication works. He's having a rough time of it recently which of course impacts on your. I hope you're able to relax and enjoy the visit with your friends.
Will definitely say a prayer for Joe that his heart falls back into normal rhythm and that the new medicine helps.
ReplyDeletePraying that the new medication will do it for Joe and for you to have a fabulous weekend with your friends. Being lucky in love is the best luck!
ReplyDeleteThose A-fib trials sound frightening indeed. I'm holding you both in my prayers that all's get whacked back in place for good!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a total blast with your friends!
I'm so sorry to hear that Joe's heart is "out of whack" again. Hoping and praying the new meds will work.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your company, and your time off from work :)

PS I can't see the linky this week, to join the Hodgepodge list, but I'm participating anyway.
Lakeland...if you were there back in 1985-86 we were practically neighbors. Well, not really, but we lived in Orlando back then.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the salty chips. That is my favorite snack, too, and the thing I crave. Not so good when I was recently diagnosed with high bp and should be good about salt. :/
I like your rule. That's my rule, too.
Saying prayers for Joe that the meds do the trick.
Sorry that Joe reverted back - will be praying it clears! Have fun with your friends!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Joe's step backwards. I hope and pray that the medicine works. Thank you so much for your kind words and condolences.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the ballgame and enjoy your company! I'm sorry to hear about Joe's step back, but will pray this new medication works for him. Salt is my thing too, but I'm working not to make it so : )
