Did You Know?
1. Your shoes are the first thing people subconsciously notice about you. Wear nice shoes. I wear sneakers - sometimes even when I am "dressed up". Helps my knees.
2. If you sit for more than 11 hours a day, there's a 50% chance you'll die within the next 3 years. I've been sitting more than 11 hours a day most of my life!
3. There are at least 6 people in the world who look exactly like you. There's a 9% chance that you'll meet one of them in your lifetime. Haven't met one....feel kind of sorry for them! :)
4. Sleeping without a pillow reduces back pain and keeps your spine stronger. I sleep on my side and can't sleep without a pillow.
5. A person’s height is determined by their father, and their weight is determined by their mother. Pretty true for me.
6. If a part of your body "falls asleep", You can almost always "wake it up" by shaking your head. Will have to try this!
7. There are three things the human brain cannot resist noticing, food, attractive people and danger. Interesting. I'll have to pay attention to see if it's true for me.
8. Right-handed people tend to chew food on their right side. Never thought about it before.
9. Putting dry tea bags in gym bags or smelly shoes will absorb the unpleasant odor. May have to give this a try because my black Reeboks are nasty!
10. According to Albert Einstein, if honey bees were to disappear from earth, humans would be dead within 4 years. I've heard this before and can see some truth in it.
11. There are so many kinds of apples, that if you ate a new one everyday, it would take over 20 years to try them all. I like Cortlands and Granny Smiths. You can have the others!
12. You can survive without eating for weeks, but you will only live 11 days without sleeping. Not sure I could survive after two days at my late age! There was a time.....
13. People who laugh a lot are healthier than those who don’t. I'm sure this is true.
14. Laziness and inactivity kills just as many people as smoking. Most likely.
15. A human brain has a capacity to store 5 times as much information as Wikipedia. Probably true.
16. Our brain uses the same amount of power as a 10-watt light bulb!! Interesting.
17. Our body gives enough heat in 30 mins. to boil 1.5 litres of water!! Could use some of that heat right now. It is cold here in Florida!
18. The Ovum egg is the largest cell and the sperm is the smallest cell !! I've heard this, too.
19. Stomach acid (conc. HCL) is strong enough to dissolve razor blades!! Probably true.
20. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day & while you walk, SMILE. It is the ultimate antidepressant. I agree!
21. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. I've also heard that this is good medicine.
22. When you wake up in the morning, pray to ask God's guidance for your purpose, today. This one I do each morning!
My friend, Judy Knowles (who is 96 going on 36), sent this list to me by email and I thought it was interesting enough to share, but in two parts. Second half tomorrow! Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs!
Well...it is hard to wear good shoes when there is snow on the ground and one must wear ugly black snow boots, LOL.
ReplyDeleteGreat comments that your friend sent, Terri and I would have to agree with most of them. Have a beautiful day, friend.
I learned a lot from this list. The only one I would differ on is the height/weight thing. For me, it's the other way around. My weight is more like my dad's and my height like my mother. I couldn't even imagine trying to sleep without a pillow!vHave a great day.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this, some of the info was very interesting! Have a great day! (stomach acid can dissolve a razor blade. WoW )
ReplyDeleteHi Terri, those are interesting facts. I found your blog from Melanie. I better get going and walk today!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit!!
DeleteThis is all so interesting! I know a guy who was judging someone based on their "shabby footwear." I thought that was pretty petty, but evidently he wasn't the only shoe snob! I'm with you, comfort beating out style. (At least I think you said something like that, but my brain might be operating on 5 watts.) Lol. xo
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love reading your answers to questions like this....and we are the same on so many topics!!! ;-) Thanks for my birthday wishes. HOPE Mr. Joe is still doing okay!
ReplyDeleteVERY interesting! I had heard of some of those.

ReplyDeleteThis was both entertaining and informative. I look forward to reading Part 2 tomorrow (with my 10-watt brain!!).
