Tuesday Tidbits....

Not too many tidbits for today....

Happy December!!  Hurricane season is over!!

We made a good dent in our Christmas shopping over the past couple of days!

We have begun watching Christmas movies.  A Christmas Carol (1938 version) was Sunday night and we watched A Christmas Story last night.  Next up is Christmas Vacation I think. Do you enjoy watching the old Christmas movies?  What is your favorite?

I have quite a collection of Christmas jewelry. None of it is "precious" and most came from places like The Dollar Store, but I got out my Christmas jewelry box and will begin wearing the silly earrings this week. It's just something that I do.  I also have pins and necklaces.  They make me smile!

My birthday is coming!  One more week.  When I was a kid, my birthday was made very special because we always decorated our Christmas tree on my birthday (or very close).  My birthday is exactly two weeks before Christmas and that made it just about right for bringing in a live Christmas tree. Very fond memories of those days!  Next year will be another "big" birthday for me. I'll be 65. This year it's only 64....

That's all I have for today.  Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Christmas Story has to be my favourite. We have a channel that has begun showing Christmas movies on Wednesdays, but late at night so I don't watch them. If I'm going to stay up that late, it'll be because I'm reading though in the winter sleep hits me earlier. I used to have some Christmas jewellry. Enjoy wearing yours and have a good day.

  5. I do love the old Christmas movies and have been watching newly made ones on Hallmark Channel too. I guess A Christmas Story is probably my favorite...we can all almost quote it. Murphy even has the leg lamp that I bought him several years ago for his restaurant, and now it is in his livingroom! Have a great day!

  6. Oh, you're such a kid!! (I turned 65 last March). What a fun idea to wear Christmas jewelry all through the month. I should do that!

  8. I love Miracle on 34th Street, or is it 37th Street? Anyway, the old one with Maureen O'Hara and Natalie Wood. My Christmas jewelry is not precious either, as far as expensive goes anyway. But it's precious to me, because like you, it make me smile. Love your background!

  9. I used to have scads of seasonal earrings and pins and necklaces because as a primary school teacher it seemed appropriate. I also had St. Patricks Day ones and even Robbie Burns ones. I had a collection of wee books for each special day too. I have given them all away mostly, to children. I didn't even wear my Halloween ones or sweatshirt this year. May favorite Christmas movie is the old ole Christmas Carol by Dickens. When we got TV I was already in my teens (60s) and my father made us all sit with him to watch it every year. It is a ritual now.

  11. I do love the old Christmas movies. My favorite is It's a Wonderful Life. I just can't love all the Hallmark Christmas movies. They are just too predictable for me.

So we are the same age! I just turned 64 in November!
