Thankful Thursday....
I mention frequently that I am so blessed to be working at a job I love, with people I love, and for a mission that I also believe in. Polk Museum of Art has been my home away from home for nearly nineteen years.
The Museum's 50th anniversary will be June 21, 2016. That date falls in our current fiscal year, so we had a kick-off celebration on Tuesday evening. It was held at our local yacht club and honored all of our past Board of Trustees Presidents, all past Chairs of our Board of Governors, and all of the past winners of our Lifetime Achievement Award. There were about 100 people in attendance. The meal was delicious and the entertainment by students from Southeastern Unversity was wonderful. I took a few photos....
Today I get the third and final (for six months, anyway) injections in my knees. The timing isn't great, since the injections really cause my knees to hurt worse for about two days. Friday we are driving up to my sister's in Georgia and to an arts & craft festival on Saturday. Perhaps moving them more will help rather than hinder. One way or the other, you can bet I will be ignoring the pain and enjoying the trip and time with my baby sister!!
That said, I will most likely not be posting while we are gone since getting on the internet isn't quite as easy there, and I'll want to spend my time with Tammy. I promise stories and photos next week though!
Thanks for your visit today! Peace & hugs.
