Weekend Catch-up....

We had a great weekend down in Naples, FL, with family!!

Friday, we arrived around 3:00.  Lauren and her boyfriend (surprise!) were there too.  Grandma and Grandpa got to take the three "kids" out to dinner.  Kathy had a late appointment, so she and Jim went to dinner later. Tristan wanted Mexican, so that is where we went...

Lauren has reconnected with Kyle.  They dated off and on during high school, then lost touch when they went off to college.  Kyle joined the Army Reserves and was deployed for 9 months.  He went through Officers Training and is a First Lieutenant.  He has been back in the states a few months now and will be looking for work down here (according to Lauren).  We all like him very much, so this makes us all very happy.  Hoping it all works out for him and for Lauren,

Saturday arrived and getting ready for the party continued.  Kathy is an expert party planner, decorator and does most of the cooking herself.  She planned a country 'Texas BBQ' type party, with jalapeno poppers, chips & salsa (in little brown bags) pulled chicken sliders, beef brisket, mac & cheese, baked beans, mashed sweet potatoes, cupcakes, chocolate cake and s'mores. She made a pitcher of Margaritas, iced tea, had root beer, water and beer for beverages. She had pie plates for us to use as plates and the silverware was wrapped in bandanas for napkins.  It was very well done.

Since their neighbors (the other penthouse suite) are only here in the winter months, Kathy used the hallway for a beverage station.  It was decorated with "Wanted" posters, of Tristan and his classmates who came to the party and are also off to their colleges next week.  Here are the rest of the photos I took during the party....

We left Sunday morning, after coffee and breakfast.  Stopped at Wendy's for some salad and chili then got home in time for Joe to watch most of the Eagles pre-season football game.  I got the laundry started after unpacking.  Back to work today.

Thanks for stopping in.  Wishing you all a good week!  Peace & hugs.
