Prayer Request Friday....

I've had this idea for awhile now and decided it is time to act on it.  I ask you all to join me on Fridays with prayer requests and prayers.  I want to do this every Friday, but please know that prayers will be offered for all intentions every day of the week.  This will just be a place to congregate and share our needs and our good news.

I believe in the power of prayer and many of you have also expressed the same.  Your prayer requests are welcome in the comments below.  I hope everyone will join me in praying for each other and the requests expressed here.  Please also share the good news of prayers answered!

Eternal Father,

Through the resurrection of Jesus
the good news of Your love has touched the world.
By our baptism, we are reborn as your Children of Light.
Through the work of Your Spirit
the glory of Your new creation continues to unfold.

Watch over Your family of faith
here in this blog post and hear our prayers.
Inspire us by the prompting of Your Spirit:
that we may dream new dreams
and find wisdom in visions.
Give us a courageous heart,
a bold voice and openness of mind,
and above all else, ears that listen.

Help us, as Your family, to discover Your way:
story telling and dialogue which leads to understanding;
ideas which challenge growth;
a journey which will bring hope.

We offer you this prayer
for You are our life, our strength and guide,
Our loving God, for ever and ever.

Lord, hear our prayers.  Amen.

My requests:
Please continue to pray for my brother-in-law, Bruce and my sister, Tammy.  They continue to be blessed with prayers being answered.  I also ask for continued prayers for my dear friend Karen and her husband Lee. Karen is fighting the big C.  Thank you!

  3. Oh, this is such an awesome idea....and I'm so glad you listened to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to do it. I have a praise. My husband's sister was in the hospital this week with pneumonia and strep throat (she's the oldest of the 7 siblings) and she was able to go home yesterday....answered prayers from her family!! Prayers for you, too, my Friend, as you are such a precious lady! HOPE you have a greast weekend!

  6. I love this idea, Terri!
    I'd like to request prayer for a dear friend of mine, Diane, who has had back surgery, tons of physical therapy, and is still in a ridiculous amount of pain. In addition, she has some difficult family issues to deal with.

    I'd also like to give praises for the relief I've gotten,so far, and ask for continued prayers that the PT exercises work and help me avoid my own back surgery.

    Have a good weekend.

  7. Great idea! I have a praise first of all - my daughter Leigh had a wreck two days before she had major surgery. She picked up the car today and did not have to pay her $300.00 deductible....it was waived. She also was given another week to recoup. Secondly, I pray for all my children and grandchildren, to come back to the Lord.

  8. I have several friends who get my blog by email. One has asked me to add a prayer request for her. Her son just interviewed for a great job today and she asked for prayers that he will get it. He currently works nights at a well-known retail establishment and needs to get away from it.

  12. Terri, I prayed over each request and comment as I read this post. Wonderful idea. The Lord hears His people when they pray and we surely do need to uphold each other up, whether we are acquainted or not. Thank you for this blog post.
