Thursday Thoughts....
Last night, we had a downpour!! There were severe storm warnings on my phone, on the TV... lightening and thunder and the rain was like a waterfall. This picture doesn't really show how bad it was, looking out our back door. Thankfully it stopped after 15 minutes or so.
I want to thank those of you who have been praying for my brother-in-law, Bruce. He had another stroke, but not as bad as the one before Christmas. Anticipating that they might have to do surgery, he was transferred from the hospital in Valdosta, GA, to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Tammy went home to pack and drove the 2-3 hours to the hospital. She texted me at 3:15 a.m. that she had arrived there safely.
They did an MRI of his head and found a tumor/mass near the site of the two strokes. That prompted a full body scan to see if there was cancer somewhere else in his body that had metastasized to the brain. She sent me a quick text last night to say that there was no evidence of cancer anywhere else in his body. The neurologist said that they probably won't have to do surgery or even a biopsy. Bruce is doing well, walking with the walker and is in good spirits. They will see the neurologist this morning for treatment options, etc., and Tammy hopes they can head home. That will be wonderful and I just know all the prayers have helped. Thank you.
Kathy took Tristan to Dallas on Monday evening. They flew out Monday evening so they would have all day Tuesday to do some last-minute shopping. She will be heading back to Florida today. He is an official college student...
Joe and I went to Applebee's for dinner last night. They have a new menu since we were there last, and I have to say we were not impressed. Neither one of us liked our meal. So disappointed.
That's all I have for now. Thank you for stopping by and (again) for your thoughts and prayers. Peace & hugs!!

Thanks for the update on Bruce. Prayers are lifted for him and the family. I'm not sure if it's Applebees or O'Charleys that my sister and I always have the loaded potato soup and we share a sandwich. I think it's probably O'Charleys. Wherever, I'm always upset that I didn't take a blanket. Have a good day.
ReplyDeletePraying for your loved ones, Ms. Terri. So sorry about your meal....that's always an unpleasant experience when we our food isn't good, especially, with the prices of eating out. HOPE something AWESOME happens today to make up for that!!!
ReplyDeleteOh no---keeping Bruce and Tammy in prayer--please keep us updated.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Tristan--keeping him in prayer too.
We have had severe weather warnings here too, it sure has been getting dark like it wanted/s to rain.
I am in agreeance with Applebee's. I don't know what is going on with them.
Keeping you family in prayer---I know...I already said that...
Prayers for you my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love watching a good thunderstorm.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Applebees. There is one a hour away near the mall but we have never tried it.
I'm glad that Bruce is doing well.
I am so thankful to hear that Bruce is up and around this morning, and hopefully no surgery will be needed. He and Tammy have really been through it this year. Hearing about Tristan going off to college really hits home here. She (Aryn) isnt going this year, but the planning has begun and it will be here before we know it. Hope your day goes well, and glad the rain has stopped. We had the downpour last night too!
ReplyDeleteIsn't the power of prayer an amazing thing! So happy to hear a good report. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree about Applebees! They don't have several of the things I used to like - but we still like a lot of their appetizers. So that's what I usually order now...an appetizer and a salad. ::sigh:: Always changing things. xo
Oh my, so sorry to hear about Bruce's new troubles. What a rough time he and Tammy are going through. Continued prayers.
ReplyDeleteThat's scary about the tumor but glad they know what has probably caused the strokes.
ReplyDeleteI CAN tell how hard it was raining because I can see the dark gray through your screens.
Sorry about Applebee's - - - my "girl"-friends and I prefer O'Charley's menu to theirs. It has been raining a bit here this afternoon - - got a gully washer last night though.
It's been raining off and on here for the last 2 days. The temps have dropped too - we didn't even make 70 today!
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful for the report on Bruce.
Sorry to hear about Applebee's. I haven't been there for a little while either.
I'm glad for the positive aspects of Bruce's latest health crisis. May the Lord give him and Tammy all the strength and grace they need for this chapter of their lives.
ReplyDeleteYour rainstorm -- we have lived in Orlando 2x and were always amazed at the difference between tropical rain storms and what we get here in Colorado. We had the screened-in pool like yours, so I can see the rain on the screening. Very impressive!
