Another Fun Saturday:9....

Stay with Me

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Stay with Me (2014)

... because Kwizgiver recommended it

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) Sam Smith explains that this song is about just not wanting to wake up alone. How about you? Are you comfortable being by yourself?  Yes, I am comfortable by myself.  I prefer having Joe there, but when he has traveled, I was comfortable.  You are never alone when you have a cat, by the way.

2) Last year a lawsuit filed by Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, who maintained that "Stay with Me" was really just "I Won't Back Down." Petty and Lynne won. Have you ever served on a jury?  Once. I hated every minute of it and it lasted three days.

3) Smith performed this on The David Letterman Show. Did you watch Dave's final episode last May?  I don't think I ever watched Letterman and certainly not his last episode.  I have to get up too early in the morning to stay up that late and it never interested me enough to want to tape it.

4) Smith says his style was influenced by ladies with "massive voices," including Adele, Amy Winehouse, Chaka Kahn, and Whitney Houston. Of those four, which do you listen to most often?   I would have to say Whitney, but I'm not a fan of any of them (sorry!).

5) Speaking of style, Mr. Smith is a smart dressed man who looks comfortable and dapper as he walks the red carpet in a tux. Do you enjoy getting dressed up for special occasions?  Once a year is enough for me, and I have to do it for work.

6) "Occasions" is a word that makes Crazy Sam stumble because she can never remember how to spell it correctly. Are you a good speller?  I would never win a spelling bee, but I do know how to spell occasions....(giggle).

7) Sam Smith was born on May 19, which makes him a Taurus. When did you last check your horoscope?  I read my horoscope every morning in the newspaper, then promptly forget what it said.  I don't even know why I read it other than it being habit.

8) Tauruses are supposed to be reliable, organized and ambitious. Do any of those three adjectives describe you?  I am reliable and organized.  I've never really been ambitious (I don't think).

9) Random question: Look at the floor. Do you see carpet, rug, hard wood or tile?  Since I am doing this in Naples, FL, instead of at home, it it carpet.  At home it would be tile.

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!  You too, Sam! Thanks for the meme!!

We made it to Naples.  No traffic to speak of, which was great!  No rain, either, which was also great!  Kathy has once again outdone herself with decorations and a cowboy theme for the party tonight.  I will have pictures to share.  Thanks for all the prayer offerings in yesterday's post.  I am praying for all intentions mentioned, plus.  I know Karen is feeling the prayers.  Thank you!

Have a good Saturday and thanks for stopping by!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Looking forward to seeing the photos. I assume you have finally decided on your outfit. About dressing up, I really prefer being comfortable in what I'm wearing. I liked getting all dressed up when I was younger though.

When I was at school, I almost won a spelling bee. I remember well the word that knocked me out of first place: subtle. English is such a silly language anyway, because you can't go by how a word's pronounced. I have an added problem too when it comes to vocabulary. I sometimes forget what something is called in English. Thank goodness for dictionaries.

Thanks for the prayers and enjoy the weekend.

  6. Can't wait to see your pics and the outfit you decided upon. We have so much in common. Your answers almost always agree with mine, although I don't read horoscopes and I do all right with spelling. I served on a jury once for four days and, while I found it interesting, it was also upsetting to see the way some people think when it comes to right and wrong.
