A Throwback Thursday

I'm going to use this Throwback Thursday for a chance to ask for prayer.

I had a phone call last night from my dear friend Karen's husband, Lee.  Karen is one of my BFFs from 5th/6th grade.  We have been friends for years and years.  What a blessing her friendship has been for me.  Karen has been fighting esophageal cancer and has been on my prayer request list for awhile now.  Lee called to let me know that Karen fell down some steps and had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.  She is in the ICU with complications.  She asked Lee to call me and she is asking for prayer.

This is my throwback photo of them 10 years ago.  They have been to visit a couple of times since then, but I think this is a good picture.  Lee said that their two daughters are en route.  One son was just there visiting and another lives in Nebraska.

This makes my heart hurt.  They live up in Virginia, too far away for me to be any help other than with prayers.

Thank you for adding Karen to your prayer list, if you will.  If you have prayer chains at church, I hope you will consider adding her there too. I will still do my Friday Prayer Post, but needed to get this one posted.

Wishing you a good Thursday.  Peace & love.

  2. I'm praying for Karen and her family. Even though you can't be there with her, your thoughts and prayers can be. I pray that she will win the fight and be able to visit again. The photo is lovely.

  3. Terri, I'm so so sorry about your friend. It is difficult for us when we want to help and can't physically be there. You are helping by putting your prayer warrior actions out there. I will life her up as soon as I am done writing this. Will keep her in throughout the day. Keep us posted as I know you will... the Lord has got her.

  10. I'm so sorry your friend is going though this. My best friend from childhood is also named Karen, so I won't have a problem remembering her name when I pray.

  11. May the peace of our Heavenly Father be on Karen and her family. May He bless her with healing and favor regarding this serious injury and the battle with cancer. Lifelong friends are special, and especially those who know the value of prayer.
