Saturday 9:

Hey, Soul Sister

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Hey, Soul Sister
(because John suggested Train)

If you're not familiar with today's song, you can hear it here.

1) The video was shot on a street corner in Echo Park in central Los Angeles. If you saw a film crew making a video in your neighborhood, would you stop to watch? Or would you just keep walking?
You bet I would stop to watch!! How exciting would that be? I'd probably try to get in it!! LOL

2) The singer says he remembers his girl in every dream he dreams. Do you remember if you dreamed last night?  I know I dream, but I rarely remember one.

3) The band Train is from San Francisco. Have you ever visited The City by the Bay? I've never been that far west, so no. It's not a place I've ever had the urge to see, either.

4) Lead singer Pat Monahan got his start in a Led Zeppelin cover band. Can you name a Led Zeppelin song?  Of course I can!

5) In doing research for this week's Saturday 9, Crazy Sam discovered a publication called Trains, The Magazine of Railroading. What's the last magazine you flipped through?  The latest issue of Garden & Gun.

6) Do you consider yourself a leader or a follower?  I have to be a leader, but it is not a comfortable role. I much prefer being a follower.

7) Scholars tell us that "To be or not to be" is Shakespeare's most quoted line. Give us another one. Yes, had to memorize this one, in school.....
"Is this a dagger which I see before me,The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.I have thee not, and yet I see thee still."

8) How do you listen to music on the go? Car radio? CD changer? iPod/mp3 player? Your phone? Car radio and/or the car CD changer. I have an old mp2 player that I loaded and then never listened to. Found it to be a pain to mess with and keep charged.

9) Are you a convincing liar?  Absolutely not. I learned a long time ago that my face gives me away so I don't even try telling little white lies anymore. Really, though...liars always trip up anyway.

So, there are my Saturday 9. I am back at work today, at the Board retreat - all day. Not the most fun way to spend a Saturday, but we have high hopes for a good out-come.  We get breakfast and lunch, and there is a champagne reception at the conclusion. I don't like champagne, so that doesn't excite me. The exciting part will be that it's over!!  Do you like champagne? I would love your answer to a couple of the Saturday 9, if you are so inclined!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good Saturday! Peace, love & hugs.

  2. Welcome to Saturday 9. You should come back and visit some of the other respondents. So far I haven't seen any duplicate Shakespeare quotes, and that's my favorite this week.

  3. I would think you are a leader and I agree on the white lies...dont waste energy doing that. I have been to San Fran. and all over Calif., and they can have my part. Wouldnt be interested at all to live there or spend any more time there. I had no clue about the Shakespeare quote, wasnt too interested in literature in school. Hope the day goes by fast and the retreat is a success.

  4. I like champagne, but I haven't had it in years, probably since before I got married? Great Shakespeare quote. :)

  8. Garden and Gun? That's a new one. I don't read magazines anymore, except for the covers in the rack at the check-out. I don't care for champagne either. Had a glass one new years eve and that was the last. I'd stop to watch the movie crew in my block too. I wonder what the title of the movie would be. Hmmm. Interesting thought. :) Hope you're having a good time at the board retreat.

  9. It's so funny about the train magazine. My brother-in-law. Subscribes to FOUR train magazines and that's one of them. The bad thing is that he keeps all of them, sohe must have boxes and boxes of them, not to mention the ones he has on the shelves in his office.
As for the filming of movies and TV series, they're constantly in my neighbourhood, which for me is annoying as it is for the other people who live there. Almodovar has done several of his films in the area.
I'm a led Zeppelin fan too! Hope your day is good.

  11. "It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
I remember this line because one of our attorneys used it in an argument!
And I dream very crazy dreams, but don't always remember what they were. Sometimes I write them down before I forget. A few have actually come true or had some meaning from what I was going through.

  12. The radio stations here are so bad that all I ever listen to is my cd changer

  13. Okay, I’ll play:

#1 Yes, I would stop and watch; no I wouldn’t want to be in it.

#2 Yes I dream often but by dinnertime I don’t remember them much at all.

#3 Road a San Francisco trolley car and spent a night near Fisherman’s Wharf when I was passing through town with my parents.

#4 One of my kids had “Stairway to Heaven” played at their wedding. I had never heard it before then.

#5 The last magazine I flipped through was Country Sampler.

#6 I am more of a leader than a follower only because I tend to speak up more than others. Would rather follow.

#7 Uh. you got me on this one. I don’t remember much of Shakespeare.

#8 Music on the go — the car radio.

    #9 Am I a convincing liar? I don’t know!

  14. Glad I got a chance to read and sort of comment. I have been overly busy and then we all got sick with the respiratory crud so my schedule is totally out of control. Hopefully getting back on track? About the movie - - yes, I would stop and watch it, too.

  15. Hmmm...Garden and Gun? I'm trying to figure out how those two things go together?

  16. I like champagne, but only a sip or two or in punch.

I have visited San Francisco and felt an after tremor following a big earthquake a couple of weeks before.

Flipped through "House Beautiful" earlier. It has a floor cloth in it that I want to pay a friend of mine who is uber talented to replicate.

Glad the meeting went well and that you can go home and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

    xo

    Sheila :-)
