Monday, Monday again....

We had such a nice time, last night, having dinner over Orlando way, at the Celebration Town Tavern, with blogging friend Kris, her husband, Walt, sister Terry, and brother-in-law John.  Kris and I have connected in person a few times now, but this was the first time we got our guys together, too!

I had a delicious cup of clam chowder, and my entree was fish & chips. We all enjoyed our meals and some fun conversation.

Sunday was the day the historic home was moved from its location on Lake Hollingsworth to its new home on S. Florida Avenue. It all seemed to have gone well, though there was some controversy about having to cut down part of a 70-year old oak tree to make room for it in one spot on the street.

Maybe you have noticed the ticker on the right side of my blog page. I have been amazed at the number of people visiting my blog who I don't know, and who don't leave comments. It made me go look at ways to tighten up security. If you received an email from me, it was sent automatically when I was exploring security settings. I may still lock it down, which means I will need your email to allow access. I haven't done it yet, but am getting close.  I miss the security we had on Multiply. Sigh.

We have a crazy busy week ahead. Sometimes it seems there is no rest for the weary. But- praise God!  Hope you all had a good weekend! Peace & blessings.

  3. I dont see a 'ticker' on your blog page??? Glad you had a good visit with Kris and Walt and others. Looks like a pretty house. Is that a line of on-lookers on the right? Have a good Monday.

    1. When I changed backgrounds, the "ticker" went away. It was there for a couple of days. I'll have to try to get it back. Kind of scary, actually. Yes, there were a lot of on-lookers. I wanted to go, but didn't want to contribute to the crowd I knew would be there.

  4. I had to scroll way down to the bottom to find your ticker...I'd love to know how to get one for my page. I'm so glad you got to see Kris...looks like you all had a good time.

That'a a great picture of the house moving to it's new home.

  5. I don't see your ticker either. I miss the security we had on Multiply too.
I'm glad you had a good time with Kris and the others. I'm afraid we can't offer you a nice place to eat like that Tavern. But you know what it's like in a small rural town in Ohio. No tourists. No attractions.(PS. I sent you a PM about that on FB). Have a good day.

  6. I share the same concerns about my page visitors, too. I don't mind lurkers, but I've found about half of the views come from Russia. Now, I can't believe I'm that popular there :)

Glad you got a chance to hang with such a nice group of new friends. Have a great week. Hugs...

  7. I'm glad you had a fun get-together with friends:)
Moving houses has always interested me. I used to watch a show about it on television.
I often wonder about some of the visitors to my blog, too. I was especially disturbed, once, when someone left a nasty, inappropriate comment :(
    Enjoy your busy week!

  8. I approve comments on my blog and very rarely get spam. I think a lot of people read blogs and 'lurk'. They enjoy reading, but feel awkward commenting. I comment on most blogs I read, although not always on the ones with a huge following. Not sure why so many visits via Russia, but I think those are often from 'spam' looking for a place to land. If you like comments on your blog, I think it's tough to tighten too much.

    1. Joyce, thanks for your comments. You've been on Blogger much longer than I have been. Multiply was super secure and Blogger is just wide open. I've only once gotten a comment that I deleted (just last week) but I was shocked to see other countries showing up in that ticker. Perhaps you are right - most are spammers looking for a place to land. I'll let it go for awhile.

    2. I'm terribly lazy and very bad at commenting, but like Joyce says I enjoy reading your posts and think about them during the day. :)

I'm in the UK as you know, but I don't know whether that shows up on your stats?

  9. That's quite a house to move!
I've noticed I have visitors from all over too, and a lot are lurkers. I want to warn you that if you go to a lock down type security, people usually can't follow you on places like bloglovin... I have a friend who did that but ended up losing a lot of followers because they couldn't tell when she put up a post.

  10. I know one of my friends from Multiply has elected to approve comments before they're posted. Anyway, let's hope this site doesn't go away soon.

  12. What a house to move! A number of years ago our hometown had a big event. They moved the covered bridge near my hubby's home place (it was our "kissing bridge") to a park about six miles away, right through town. That took a lot of prep and created quite a sensation about town. We have lots of pictures.
