Friday Fragments....

My boss, Claire, challenged me (on Facebook) to post 10 books I've read that have "stuck" with me.  Here is my response:
-----------------------------

I was asked by Claire Orologas for a list of the top ten books that have "stuck" with me. I read all the time, but I read them fast and sometimes don't even remember the author. I know...really?! (Freebies on my Kindle.) These are in no order of any kind, and you will quickly see that I read purely for entertainment (including vampire trash). I'm supposed to ask 3 people to do the same, but I will just invite you to join in if you are so inclined.

Wanderers Eastward, Wanderers West, by Kathleen Winsor
The Outlander Series (all 8 books), by Diana Gabaldon
The Mitford Series (all 10 books), by Jan Karon
Gone WIth The WInd, by Margaret Mitchell
The Once and Future King, by T.H. White
Warriers Books (the first 12), by Erin Hunter (read them with grandson)
The Harry Potter Books (all seven), by J. K. Rowling (read them with granddaughter)
The Vampire Chronicles (all 12), by Anne Rice
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Series (3 books), by Stieg Larsson
The Hunger Games Series (3 books), by Suzanne Collins
The Stephanie Plum books (all 22), by Janet Evanovich
Dr. Kay Scarpetta books (15 or so), by Patricia Cornwell
The Alex Cross books (12 or so), by James Patterson

So that is a lot more than 10 books! I love reading a series, or sequels. I also need to add the Bible, by various authors! Can't not mention it, since I read it every day.
Who is up for the challenge now?
-------------------------------------------
My friend, Lisa, reminded me about The Shack, which I really loved too. There are just so many wonderful stories out there. Is there a book or series that has been special to you? Let me know in your comments!!

Today is Joe's birthday! We are going out to Bonefish Grill for dinner. He received two gift cards for Bonefish, so we will enjoy a good dinner on friends!

TGIF and wishing you a good weekend!! Thanks for stopping by! Peace & blessings!

  1. Happy Birthday to Joe!! I loved The Once and Future King also. And I tend to like authors - N.T. Wright, G.K. Chesterton, and Dorothy Sayers to name a few. Have a wonderful day and great birthday party.

  2. Since I am not homeschooling my son this year I should have lots of time to read. Yay!! I usually get E-library books but my E-reader Kindle App isn't loading the books. Hoping to get a real Kindle for my birthday next month.

Heather Graham, John Sanford, Harlan Coben, Preston + Child + Karen Slaughter are a few of my faves.

Happy Birthday to Joe! Have a great day!

  5. Happy Birthday to Joe. You have a great list of books. I'm like you when it comes to reading. I have over 200 books on my Kindle, most of which I have already read. The majority are mysteries. My favorite series is the "Left Behind" books. I've read all 12, in hard bound, and still on my shelf. I've also read "The Shack" and enjoyed it. And there's the Bible.

  7. You've listed a very impressive assortment of good reads. We enjoy the Plum series, too, but we listen to them instead while on long trips. One of the best long-trip stories we've recently completed was Dumas Key by S. King. My personal series fave is The Alphabet Mystery Series by Sue Grafton. I like mysteries best for fiction, but most of my reading is non-fiction. Currently working on "Dereliction of Duty". Have a great evening celebrating Joe's birthday. Hugs.

  8. I did a list on Facebook, too. It is fun reading others' lists because I see so many books I have enjoyed. And we have in common reading the books too fast! The Mitford series was good. I had forgotten about those.
