Tired Tuesday....
I'm having a hard time topping the fun we had with yesterday's post about most embarrassing moments! If you missed it, click HERE. Thanks to all who joined in and shared!! I enjoyed the comments more than you know!
I really have nothing to share today, other than my 8:00 appointment at the orthopedic office, for my quarterly cortisone shots. Last time, they gave me a very restless night. This time, my knees are hurting bad - worse than with any of the shots before. I know they will feel better tomorrow, and ice will help tonight.
I haven't updated on my brace in awhile. The brace works, but it gives me pressure sores and blisters in places. I suspect I have it too tight or not tight enough, and need to find some time, now that the audit is over, to get back to the clinic, where I got it, and have them fit it on me again. The cortisone only gives me some relief for a few weeks, so the brace helping is important! I'll keep you posted. This is exactly what the brace looks like. It is big, sort of heavy, and complicated to get on, with the straps all numbered so you know which to tighten first. My pressure sores and blisters are along the thigh (the long piece) and around the strap at the bottom of my calf. I've tried two kinds of "socks" with it, and they don't help.
My day is winding down. I'm tired. Tired Tuesday. I really have nothing else to offer. Oh, tomorrow night, we are invited to a friend's house for dinner, to celebrate another friend's birthday, and I am also having lunch with Helen and Cheryl tomorrow at noon. It will be a nice day of meals out! Yum!
Sticking with tired...maybe I'll get dinner out tonight, too! :)
Thanks for coming by! I appreciate your time and your comments! Peace, love & hugs.

I understand your pain Terri. I never had a brace but can understand too, the pressure points, etc. I hope you can make it a few more years before surgery, but when you do have it, and look back, you will wish you had had it sooner. Hugs my friend. Go, eat out and then go home and rest your body.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you need that brace fitted to me too. It's hard to get those things adjusted right.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your comment about the picture of my Dad. You pegged him right, about the gleam in his eye. He still has it at 84! He's mischievous and loves to tease. :)
I hope the shots kick in soon. I hope you can get the brace adjusted right. I can just imagine how painful it is for you. Take it easy tonight and rest your knees
ReplyDeleteYesterday was so much fun! Now, for today's fun, I made pizza salad and blogged about it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe brace must be so frustrating. You need it, but you need it to not make pressure sores and blisters.
Sorry to hear your brace is bothering you. I hope someone can help you. I missed the fun you're talking about. It looks like I need to go back further to get caught up with you. I've been bad lately keeping up with everyone.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry...my husband had to wear one for a long time..I certaintly understand. He use to get shots for his deg. discs in his back, and he quit having them. It wasn't doing any good.. ANYWAYS--Praying that you get relief. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was little and had to wear a brace on my leg. I always had sores and had to wear horrible stiff shoes that hurt my feet. Hope you get some relief for your knee and blisters. I'm late in commenting as the page has been down for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that your brace is still not working well. Hope, though, that your shots went well....at least as well as possible. I'd hate having to endure those. Was offered shots in my heal for the plantar faciitis that I endured for over 5 years....never could bring myself to do it.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your knee. I have trouble with my right knee from a fall I took a couple of years ago. Have you had surgery on yours? I did have a cortisone shot about 5 months ago, but it didn't help very much. HOPE yours feels much better after the shot!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad about the brace causing sore spots. I hope you can get that worked out soon. :-(
ReplyDeleteThat thing looks like an instrument of torture. Could you maybe put some kind of soft lining along the inside of the bars that irritate you? Lambs wool, a thin strip attached might act as a buffer.
