Throw Back Thursday....

These photos don't go too far back. They are from November 2011.

My friend and co-worker, Kalisa, is an award winning horsewoman. She is quite accomplished and learned of my desire to go horseback riding. We have actually been three times (just trail horses). Joe went with us this time.  I would love to learn how to ride - really ride. These horses know the trails and are used to riders who have no idea what they are doing (me!).  It was lots of fun.

Kalisa, on her rental horse.

Me, on my rental horse.

Switching subjects, we had a great time, last night, at our friend's house for dinner and the birthday celebration for another friend. The food was delicious. She prepared fish, inside parchment paper with potatoes, tomato slices, olives, other herbs, and the cod. It steams while in the oven, and is served with rice and another green vegetable. She also served a delicious salad. Very good. I need to get her recipe.  We didn't leave until 9:30, so I will be dragging today!

Wishing you a good Thursday, and I thank you for stopping by. Blessings!

  4. In Colorado, I had a horse...a bay....and loved her I did!!! The horses CAN sense the fear and novice in a horseback rider...

If you get a chance to do it again...go for it!! Soon, you'll be an expert.

  5. It's an amazing feeling being on a horse, isn't it. I am always surprised that they don't just bolt and leave me on the ground. As it happens, I haven't ridden for years. Love your photos of y'all and your rental horses. :-)

  7. I love horseback riding too. We had some family and friends who had horses years ago and I got to ride almost anytime I wanted. Every evening we were all out to the barns taking care of the stalls and the horses. I loved it.
