Saturday Dispatch....
I really don't need to say anything else, because the picture says it all.
I did not set the alarm, but as soon as we got up and had breakfast, we started cleaning this dirty house. I have only given it a lick and a promise for the last three weeks, so furniture got moved, nik-naks were shuffled around and everything got some Pledge, and all the floors got scrubbed. Joe did the bathrooms and his office, bless him. It sure does feel good to have it done!
I need to get in the shower and get ready for our Saturday Vigil Mass, now. This weekend is the membership drive for our women's group. The little bags of goodies we prepared (or tried to prepare) a couple of weeks ago will be used tonight and after the Masses tomorrow. I volunteered to hand them out after Mass tonight. I begged off helping to finish the project, after they got more verses printed and tea-bags purchased. (I blogged about that a couple of weeks ago...)
Our techie friend was coming tomorrow, after his church, to help me finish setting up my new laptop. I was going to feed him (and we pay him, too), but he (and several others at work) came down with a nasty cold last week, so we will do it one night this week, when he is feeling better and isn't contagious.
So, no plans for tomorrow, but who knows what might happen. I'll be sure to tell you about it! Thanks for visiting, and for comments! Peace, love & hugs!

My house got a lick and a promise today, it needs more but I have Alaina here so that'll have to do.
ReplyDeleteYou should feel good about your work for today!
My poor house gets that lick and a promise all the time. I used to be a better housekeeper, but now things have changed and I cant do it all any more. It is a rainy afternoon, so I will say, enjoy relaxing after Mass and tomorrow. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI have been doing housework today, too - - but not quite done yet. Survived - - and thrived the first week Benjamin was back with us while his mom was in training/in-service for school. However, the house shows that Bill and I were not alone!
ReplyDeleteHow did you know what I was going to write about tomorrow? I didn't use Pledge but these dust cloths I made that have been soaked in olive oil and lavender oil. I still don't like to dust though. I'll clean toilets any day. Hope you're enjoying a pleasant evening.
ReplyDeleteA freshly cleaned house is one of the best feelings.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your clean house and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI don't miss having to do the "Saturday Morning Shine" that was mandatory when I worked all week. I would spend 4-6 hours 'catching up' on housework. I now have a schedule where I do two things each day. Saturday is changing my sheets and preparing a Sunday School lesson. Sunday is church and laziness/reading/napping/walking. Monday is a ME day so I only iron and do banking. It is also a no phone or computer day and I just shut them all down. It is a freedom day....Go Away World.....
ReplyDeleteTuesday is dusting and vacuuming...Wednesday is floors....You get the picture.....It takes a lot of pressure off to just do one or two things a day beyond meals and dishes and laundry. Some just have to be done as needed. When I stick to the calendar chores for each day the weeks go by so much more smoothly and I feel like I have more time for ME.
I did a good cleaning to our lower level a few days ago. It feels so good to have a everything in order but now I need to concentrate on getting the upstairs done. My bedroom could use a whole day of cleaning...lol. Sorry to hear your that your friend has a bad cold. My daughter's boyfriend has a nasty one too. Summer colds are the worse!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles. Hope you got done what needed to be done. Blessings
ReplyDeleteAll my house gets anymore is a lick and a promise (long story). I'd love to find a cleaning gal to come in and help me.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your 'techie' isn't feeling well. I know you're no doubt anxious to get the new laptop up and running.
Hope you have a great Sunday.
