Hodgepodge Has a Joke This Week!!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 186

Welcome to this week's edition of the Wednesday Hodgepodge. Joyce is taking a break next week, so there won't be a Hodgepodge for next Wednesday.  All the more reason to play this week!! HERE is the link!

1. The best part of waking up is....waking up! I'm always thankful for another day!

2.  Given a choice, which animal interaction would you most like to experience (or for those non-adventurers...which would you dislike the least?)- Swim with the dolphins at one of several locations in the Florida Keys, a lion encounter ten minutes from Victoria Falls (Africa), or a day at a remote base camp high in the Big Sur wilderness via the Ventana Wildlife Society helping track California condors?  Since I am the cat lady, it would have to be a lion encounter.  Swimming with the dolphins would be great, too, but to be able to interact with a real lion - wow.  (Especially the baby lions!)

3. What is something you fear about 'old age'? What is something you look forward to?  Well, I am at the beginning of my old age - soon to be 63.  I don't fear getting old, but I do fear diseases that incapacitate you, no matter your age. I look forward to (hopefully) 20 more healthy years on this earth.  I just look forward to living.

4. Hot sauce...are you a fan? If you answered yes, what's something you make/eat that must have hot sauce? On a scale of 1-10 how hot is too hot?  I do enjoy hot sauce and spicy food.  Something that checks in at a 10 is probably a bit too hot, but I can do 8 pretty easily. I grew up eating hot peppers. I can't think of one thing that I MUST have hot sauce on, but if there is hot sauce on the table, I'll find something on my plate to put it on!!  I also love the "saucy hot" names people come up with for their sauces!

5. It's been said that children learn what they live. What do you think children learn at your house?  Acceptance and unconditional love (I hope!!).  I hope adults feel the same thing at our house!

6. What's your favorite movie with a number in it's title?  Miracle on 34th Street (the original).

7. Saturday (August 16th) is National Tell a Joke Day...share one here.  What did the baby corn say to the momma corn?  (Where is the popcorn?)

8.  Insert your own random thought here. There are lots of great movies with numbers in the title. I like 27 Dresses; The Sixth Sense; all three Ocean's movies 11, 12 & 13.  I'm sure there are more if I just stop to think about it some more. I'll be interested to see everyone's anwer to #6, especially.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my Hodgepodge today!! Looking forward to yours!  Thank you, Joyce, for another great Hodgepodge, and do enjoy your week off next week!!  Be blessed!

  2. Good answers today. Hot sauce or peppers and I, are not friends. I am also thankful to wake up every morning. I believe children do learn at home - language, manners, respect, and I think it should be taught there and not put that responsiblity on teachers. Happy Hump Day!

  11. .i'd be hard put to say which is my favourite film. I have films that I can watch again and again like all of Alfred Hitchcock's, all of Steven Spielberg's, Donner's etc, and I love old movies. I'm hoping they'll show a Lauren Bacall film on TV, like they showed 'Dead Poets' Club' last night. Hot, spicy food in moderation for me.

I haven't seen any of the 'Ocean' movies, I must be missing out on something good :) I agree with your choice of Miracle on 34th Street though.
