Monday Quiz About Me....

I decided to do the MQAM today. Our weekend was a slug-fest. I did as little as possible. Happily, Joe is doing better, though the coughing is frustrating (for both of us!). Bless his heart, he has had a rough couple of weeks with that crud. So far, I have been able to avoid the bug.  Here is the Meme of the day....
------------------------------------------

Welcome to Monday Quiz About Me - hosted by Heather & Wayne from Acting Balanced. We are continuing to answer questions together. A special shout out this week to Judy from Retired-not-Tired for getting Heather off her butt and getting the questions up!

Here are FOUR QUESTIONS that everyone can answer and then you have the option to add a fifth question of your own for those who are visiting your blog to answer in the comment section, along with commenting on the four standard questions you answered!

Here are the Questions:

1. It was Father's Day in North America this weekend, share something special about a dad in your life:
  • I posted a Father's Day blog about my dad, so won't go into it again here. You can check my archive for Saturday/Sunday to learn about my amazing dad, who I lost much too soon, to cancer.
2. Today is Fresh Veggies day - what is your favorite veggie to have fresh - raw or cooked?
  • The only vegetable I refuse to eat is okra. I can't stand okra. I love all other veggies and can eat them raw (most) or cooked. I especially like some of them drenched in butter and/or cheese. I know - takes away from the healthy aspect, but oh my goodness - melted butter on most any veggie!!!
3. Wednesday is National Splurge Day - if money was no object, what would you splurge on?
  • A new kitchen and an upgrade to our two bathrooms.
4. Do you like to walk? Where is your favorite place to walk?
  • I love to walk, but my bad knees have put a stop to it. Right now, anyplace would be a favorite place, if it didn't hurt so bad. Sigh.
So for my #5, just answer one of the above in your comments, if you would like to.

I wish you a good Monday. Mine is starting out with a funeral, I'm sad to say. A long-time supporter of the Museum (where I work) has died and the service is this morning, at 10:00.  It is always sad to see the 'old guard' slipping away. Younger folks aren't as quick to support the arts, unfortunately. Philanthropy is not dead, but times are changing.

Blessings to all!!

  1. Good morning, Terri! I wish I loved veggies more than I do. I am trying though. With Lauren and Matthew being vegan, I have found myself cooking more veggies . I will get there eventually...lol. I would also spurge on a new kitchen! Looks like we both are saying goodbye to someone today. My cousin's husband passed away and today is his funeral. I hope Joe is feeling better soon. I know how aggravating a nasty cough can be! Have a wonderful week, Terri!

  2. Hello Terri. #2 would be the one I would answer. The only veggie that I can think of that I am not crazy about is black-eyed peas. Okra and I are great pals! I love it pickled!

  3. No okra for this old girl either....love the veggies straight out of the garden and most of all, tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, not like the ones you buy in our stores in winter...glad to hear Joe is feeling better. Those old coughs seem to be the last thing to leave and aggravating to say the least. Sorry about the death.

  4. I'm with you.... I wish we both could splurge on a new kitchen. Mine is so dated (1960's) complete with wallpaper with little kettles and rolling pins, but I can't do any changes myself... too physical and too expensive. And I love butter on my cooked veggies too. Corn-on-the-cob dripping with butter!!!
Hope you have a great day.

  5. I'd splurge on a place on the water with a dock for a boat and a pool.....yeah, that's what I'd like to splurge on.

  6. Oh how I love fried okra! I would splurge on a second bathroom and big kitchen. Condolences on your loss..that is so sad. Blessings

  7. I am so with you on the okra, that slimy goey crap. Yuk. Can you tell I don't like it? :-) Otherwise I love most every other veggie raw or cooked and I agree, butter makes them all better.

  8. Quite a few people say they don't like okra. The only time I remember eating it was battered and fried. Have you tried the trick with the onion cut in half near the bed? It's supposed to stop you from coughing at night. It sure can't hurt I think.

  9. I wish I liked veggies more, but I do like more than I uses to. I really dislike brussel sprouts.

  10. There are tons of veggies I don't like. I do like salad. I would rather have a side salad then cooked veggies.

I would love to upgrade my kitchen + baths too.

I love to walk but I don't like walking by myself. I drag my hubby along when his leg isn't bothering him. I really need to get more exercise.
