No Monday Meme....

The usual Monday meme, About Me, hasn't posted so I'm all on my own today!

If you read my weekend posts, you know I was a lazy slug, though I did manage to dust and vacuum, and get the laundry done.  We also went to the graduation party I mentioned earlier.

Alfred got his Master's in Education (M.Ed.) from University of South Florida, and he and his wife had a little get together at their house to celebrate.  We  picked up our friend, Helen, and took her with us.  Alfred helped Joe (really helped!) get Helen's house situated and cleaned out after her husband died last year. She was/is very appreciative and thinks it is great that a young man would give his time to help her. Of course, we felt he was really helping Joe, who asked him to help, but it did help Helen, too.  :)

When Helen met Alfred's mom, at the party, she told her what a fine young man she raised. It was one of those nice moments to observe.  Alfred's folks live across the street and up the corner from us. We have known him since he was about 10 years old, and he was our 'lawn boy' for quite a few years. They also went to our church.  He is in his early 30s now. Good golly.

I forgot my phone, so had no way to take any photos. I did get a promise from Alfred, to email a few to me, so hopefully I'll have a couple to share with you at some point.

Other than that, I have nothing else to report. This week will slide us into Mayfare by-the-Lake.  Old friends, Hattie & Murph (Murph used to work for me at the Museum) are coming down, from Michigan, for Mayfaire - and to see family. They get into town Thursday. It is always fun to reconnect with them. My friend, Shirley, will be at Mayfaire with their son, who is coming from Texas for Mother's Day and Mayfaire. I'm sorry that neither of our guys will be coming down for it. Jeff has been to Mayfaire, and now that Joey and Darlene will be closer, we may see them here next year!  Sunday, May 11, is also our wedding anniversary - 29 years. Lots to celebrate!!

Wishing you a good Monday and week ahead!  Thanks for stopping by.

  5. I think it's good to have a lazy...errr restful...weekend, sometimes. We had one, too. His mama's sick, and we've been on the road a lot, lately. We woke up happier, this morning, than we have for a good while.

  9. Yesterday was Mother's Day here. Two of my kids told me they didn't get home until about midnight. This was our 4-day weekend you know, so they must have been tired this morning - not that Spanish kids go to bed that early.

Glad you enjoyed your party. It's a good thing you had a relaxing weekend, because you're going to be busy this week!
