Tuesday Tidbits...

Back to work today. Sigh. Is it bad that I'm beginning to think longingly of retirement?  I love my job, but I'm beginning to think I might love retirement better.  Three more years....

  • Joe and I headed for Orlando yesterday morning, to hopefully find some great bargains at the Coldwater Creek Outlet. Well, it had already closed.  It was still active on the web, and the sign was still on International Drive, but the store was gone.  A 90-mile round trip for nothing. Sigh. I should have called ahead.

  • We came back to Lakeland and went to the Coldwater Creek store in our Lakeside Village. They were marking everything down 20%. I found a couple pair of slacks that had been marked down once, with the additional 20%,  and a top for my giftcard. The clerk told me that after May 7th, when the liquidation begins, they probably won't honor gift cards, so I really needed to spend my birthday gift. What a shame.
  • I also had a Groupon for the store. She wouldn't accept a Groupon, and told me I would have to notify Groupon for a refund. Great.  Sent them an email as soon as we got home. I can't just throw money in the trash.
  • I skipped my church women's meeting last night.  I was tired, and just wasn't up for it. The speaker was from the Boys & Girls Club. I'm sure it would have been interesting, but it didn't motivate me to be out until after 9:00 p.m., after a busy weekend.  Plus, I still had laundry to finish.
It's a busy week for me at work. Budget meetings, and a Board meeting coming up. I need to finish the March financials.....

Wishing you a good Tuesday!!  Check out my "Peace, Love and Hugs" below!!

  1. Sorry your trip was a bust. At least you were able to find a few things at the local store. I hope Groupon isn't a pain in the butt about issuing a refund. Hope you have a better day today!

  3. What a bummer about the trip. Actually - the whole thing is a bummer. It's really sad they soon won't honor gift certificates and won't honor groupons.
Hope you have a great day today!

  4. What a disappointment at Coldwater Creek, but glad you did find something back in Lakeland. I remember when I was wanting to retire and it seemed the longer I worked, the more I craved being off. It will come faster than you realize tho! Have a good day and hope you get everything done at work.

  5. Good news about the Groupon certificate! They have already credited my account for the $25.00. Less than 24 hours. Good company! I love using Groupons!

  8. I miss my time off too, Terri. Yesterday was a struggle for me and everybody else I'm sure. Today was the first day back for school kids.

At least you were able to find something to spend your gift cards on. I was in Ohio when the Borders closed in Cincinnati. The particular one that we were going to had been open the day before.

  9. Wow, I didn't know Coldwater Creek was closing. I read your comment about the Groupon. Good to know they are efficient in situations like that. Hope your week perks up a little. And thinking about retirement is just fine!
