- Have you heard about the Little Free Library movement? My co-worker, Maya, has established one in her yard, and is having so much fun with it!! She is in Junior League, and they are all about literacy, so this project is near and dear to her heart for many reasons. You can read about it HERE and see pictures of some of the creative little libraries that have been built. I think it is a great idea! Are you familiar with it, or have you seen one in a neighborhood near you and wondered what it was?
- I have a hair cut appointment this afternoon, with Teena!! She is back to work after emergency surgery many weeks ago. Her son, Price, cut my hair twice while she has been out. We are in touch on Facebook, but I can't wait to give her a hug today! I really don't even care if she cuts my hair - I am just anxious to see her and catch up. I've gone to her for several years now, every 4-5 weeks. I consider her a treasured friend, first - barber second!
- Speaking of hair - Teena doesn't do color, so I will see Carol on Saturday morning, for color. Too much gray is peaking through again.
- I have a DAR meeting tomorrow, at lunch time. I missed last month, so hope I can get away to go tomorrow. It is some distance from work, so cuts about 2 1/2 hours out of my day. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
- This Friday is a members opening reception for the new Gunderson-Sorenson sculptural exhibit, at the Museum. It will be quite interesting, with things hanging from the ceiling and one piece going from the Hollis Gallery, right out into the Sculpture Garden. I hope we have some official photographs that I will be able to share with you!
Thank you for stopping by!! I wish you a good Tuesday!! Peace, love & hugs!!

dunno if my comment went through. Hmmmm.
ReplyDelete...it didn't. Odd.
DeleteOkay, I did comment on gray hair being a distinction of living a long, wonderful life. And some reference to Paula Deen and her beautiful white silvery locks. LOL
And then...LOVE the whole concept of the library!! That's awesome.
Well, my gray locks will just have to stay....lol I love the idea of the free library, but it wouldnt work in the area I live. Hope you get to the DAR meeting. Hugs
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the photos! It sounds really special. I guess i'll have to think about getting my hair cut again soon, but I don't worry about colouring it any more.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetheart, and I dearly love reading your blog!

When we lived in Alabama, the water company had a free library-take a book, exchange a book, leave a book. When we first started going to pay the bill, there weren't many books then after 20 yrs, the library grew to where they needed 2 bookshelves. --I have gray hair, Sometimes Lauren colors it, sometimes Revlon, LOL. It depends whether or not if I have the money.
ReplyDeleteThose little libraries are catching on all around this great country of ours. They are a great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of the little libraries and they are a great idea. Anything to get people to read is good in my book.
ReplyDeleteI can't do perms or color. My skin is tooooo sensitive to many, many things. I can cope with the natural look on my hair but don't like the wrinkles starting in my skin.
I think the library is a great idea - I have never seen one - what is hard is there are so many genera - do you have enough to interest others?
ReplyDeleteI like the Library idea. Too bad it wouldn't work in our neck of the woods because the education in Georgia is shameful. I'm glad I was educated in Florida.
ReplyDeleteI've been letting my hair grow again, so, I haven't been to my barber in about a year. I don't know why I'm not gray yet but I do like to still color it to add body. My hair is so fine! Humid days wreck havoc on it. *lol* ~:)
One of my FB friends posted pics of a library near her like that. She loves using it.
ReplyDeleteUgh I noticed yesterday how many grays I have. Time to color again lol
Have a great week!
I had heard of that library/literacy program. Years ago I read about travellers who leave books at the spot they finished reading them and picked up new ones along the way. I had been doing that when we camped. I like to leave magazines in outhouses and real books in laundries. But now with kindles etc I wonder if folk will still exchange. I see there is a place at the exit of the local grocery store.
