I've mentioned previously that I have been going through boxes of old photos, and have started scanning them in. This fact should prepare you for many "Throwback Thursday"s to come! LOL
Joe and I have been married almost 29 years. His two sons became my sons long before our wedding day. I fell in love with the whole package, and have been so blessed.
This picture was taken around Christmas of 1984, about five months before we got married, in May 1985. Joe sold his house in Burke, Virginia (a bit farther out from D.C. than I wanted to drive everyday, since I worked in the city - about an 90 minute drive during rush hour!), and we looked for and bought a house in Alexandria, VA. He and the boys moved in. My apartment was only about a mile away from the new house. All of that leading up to just tell you that these are my guys, a few months before our wedding, about 29 years ago!! Wow. Almost 30 years.
The time has just flown by. Precious, precious time together!!
(Check out Joe's dark hair!!)
The picture was taken in the basement family room of the new house. My apartment was about as big as this family room, and this is where my furniture came when I moved in, after the wedding. It worked out quite well, actually. Don't you love the 1970s paneling?! It was a walk-out basement, with a fireplace and wet bar. Very nice, and is where we spent lots of family time.
My sister, Tammy, and her husband, Bruce, arrive tonight! We are looking forward to a fun, long weekend. I have Friday off from work. Pictures will follow!! Thanks for stopping by! Peace, love & hugs.

I love your Throwback Thur. photo/posts!! Have a nice visit..hope the storms/bad weather missed you yesterday. Isn't that something, the rest of us get snow and you get bad storms, lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat memory and great lookin' guys, too. Love the way you say you fell in love with the whole package. What a wonderful way to view a ready-made family. You and Joe are blessed and blessings, Toots. Say Hi to Tammy for me....wonder if she remembers ;) Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the photo! And we all had paneling back then, didn't we! not to mention avocado green and gold. My mom had flocked wallpaper. Remember that??
ReplyDeleteWe have that 70s paneling in the living room. We finally painted over it last year. lol Have a great visit!
ReplyDeletePaneling! Ugh. I'm glad that fad died out, along with shag carpeting, avocado appliances and hip huggers. *lol*
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the old photos and the stories. Y'all are a nice looking family. May God bless you all. ~:)
I love the love you have for the "whole package". Those boys are blessed to have you in their lives!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time with your sister!
What a great photo. I enjoy the look back. Have a nice visit.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good when family gets together, especially sisters, so I know you're going to have a good time together. I'll look forward to seeing more old photos. I've heard panelling is coming back in style. I know your basement was as big as my apartment
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your family, Terri!
ReplyDeleteLove this picture. It is great of your boys.
