Thursday Thoughts....

The week is winding down (though it could be going faster).

Our inside Christmas decorations are up. So far, Vinny has chosen one ornament to take off the tree. Every time I put it back, he gets it off again, so I let him have it this time. It is a stuffed snowman and of no sentimental value. If that is as bad as it gets, it's not too bad.

Joe has not had a chance to put the outside lights up yet.  We got home from running some errands last night, and were greeted by this....

....across the street from us.  Joe says he is just going to put out a sign, now, that says "Look over there." with an arrow!  LOL   Those folks always out-do everyone in the neighborhood. It does look pretty!

I met Joe at the church yesterday morning, so we could attend our friend's funeral. It was very nice and well attended.  When it was over, we went to Wendy's for a quick lunch, rather than stay for the reception in the Parish Hall.

I'm having lunch with my girlfriends today.  Just Shirley and Cindee. Melody isn't coming down for this one. It will be good to catch up with them. It's been a month or more.

Oh - had a wonderful surprise in the mail last night!! An early birthday card, with a 2-night stay at a Marriott Resort, down in Palm Beach.  I just need to call for reservations!  Blown away by this gift from grandson Tristan, Kathy and Jim. I told Joe...maybe he can go too!  :)

Hope you had a good 'hump day'!!  Thanks for stopping by my page!  Peace, love & hugs.

  4. Wow!! That house and yard is decorated beautifully. Had to giggle when I read about Joe and the sign. I have not done any decorating and may not since it is just Gene and me. All our children have Christmas at home with their children. We do see them or at least talk to them over the holidays though. What a nice birthday gift you received. Enjoy! Hugs

  6. Wow! What a nice early birthday present. I got another scarf for mine yesterday. This one is big enough to make a dress for me i received 3 in total and they all have a lot of browns in them. I don't have a lot of broen clothes though, so I'll wear green with them.

  7. Nice gift and know you will enjoy and if Joe behaves, you might just let him go with you! Love his thoughts on the lights across the street! Save him a lot of time. Enjoy your lunch with girlfriends.

What a great birthday gift! It would be a nice get-away but it might be more fun to take Joe with you. :)

  10. Terri, yup! Joe's got the right idea. I wouldn't bother decorating, I'd just put up a sign with an arrow pointing across the street!

  11. I appreciate Joe's sense of humour. He must be an honourary Irishman. He has a handle of the self-deprecation that is so endearing to me.
